Someone else mentioned paper cones above.
The sun and heat hit them the most on the dash.

I don't want to replace the entire head unit and spend $3500 on it either.
After combing through this forum and trying a couple of suggested set ups (4 ohm JL C2 replacements, etc), I finally found something that works:

Amplifier Integration Interface for Select 2014+ Toyota and Lexus vehicles with Premium Amplified Sound Systems - PAC

The PAC AmpPRO is basically a T-Harness that robs the signal from the head unit and sends it back. It’s a little pricy, but you don’t have to replace your head unit or get a DSP. I’ve found that it’s really flexible and allows you to put any of your speakers or the sub onto an amp. The t-harness is plug and play and the unit fits nicely in the center console.

Yeah that’s way more than I want to spend even before the replacements but thank you!

Still no answer from OEM either

It may be time to check out replacements straight from Toyota...

Yeah those prices are ridiculous. Maybe I’ll just try the Subaru’s from Amazon. How bad could they be really, compared to the blown set I have now...

What’s the worst that can happen- I have to tune the treble all the way up?

What region of NY are you in?
Doesn't have to be exact town.

Long Island, though I'm in West Hartford at the moment and I can go anywhere...

Why?

Junk Yaaaahdz. (Oh, wait, that is Bhaaastin)

I was going to say there are yards on the North shore of Staten Island and a few in Newark, NJ.
I *HAVE* to remember to go to one EARLY tomorrow to grab some OEM wire for a rat/mouse test I want to run with the SOY wire.

I can ask about tweeters for ya from a later model if you wanted.

I am NOT going onto Long Island though .
I mean, traffic may not be bad with the Covid stuff, But we could meet in the shitty if you would like... IF I can get 'em.

I don't know how you guys deal with that.

But, once this BS lifts, all the CITYFOLK that fled to NJ will be clogging up our roads.

And yeah, it’s horrible. Thank God for 15 years my commute was north/south from Long Beach to Westbury!

Summer it’s even worse for sure. That’s why I lived somewhere that I was already at the beach 😉

You’re in North Jersey? Easy enough to swing by

Oh, So you wanna take away my reason to possibly go into the city and get some KATZ sammitches piled high?
I see how it is

I like to be away from the ever-maddening crowds.
Beach life was nice, but then they swarm in the Summer.

Katz? Are they still around?

I’d rather go to Harold’s in Lyndhurst ;)
