Yezzur. Tourist Trap / Carnegie Deli closed up.
You can still get it in Madison Square Garden though.
Harold's is just "awe" factor for the size.
It isn't all that tasty to me.
KATZ!

Well, that was a waste.
Six scrap yards and no help on the wires I need, or for tweeters.
One yard did say it isn't worth their time for the speakers in most cars as they cannot guarantee they are not blown.
Makes sense I guess.

Well that’s unfortunate, and for both of us...
But Honestly thank you so much for trying!!!

👍👍👍
Update- I spoke with OEM and theirs doesn’t work with the JBL system
Best price I’ve seen for the original Toyota replacements would be $130 plus shipping for the pair...
Anyone know of a cheaper place or have any other suggestions?
Thanks everyone!

The JBL in the new Pro's is very Flat, almost zero bass, just sounds like a cheap radio to me. If the JBL in the Avalon was a 10, this is a 4 tops. You have to crank it way up before you'll notice any sound coming from the rear at all. It sounds like JUST the dash speakers are driving at you and they sound like cheap paper speakers.
My best friend has been a car stereo dealer for more than 30 years, I've got him looking for solutions and he hasn't come up with anything that will actually work with the JBL system because of the ohm ratings, etc. There doesn't seem to be a good way to take the signal from the JBL head unit, run it through an amp and drive some decent real speakers... I don't want to replace the entire head unit and spend $3500 on it either.
He told me if I take those crappy paper speakers out and put in something decent, it will be a 4 ohm speaker and at full volume, you'd only get about what you previously got at 1/2 volume... So for now, I just ignore it. Bigger fish to fry and all that...
Good luck. If you find a solution, I'd like to know what it is too!
The one suggestion he had was to get a bunch of sound deadening material and put it in the doors and rear hatch door. He figured cutting road noise might make the JBL sound better.

@ aweaver65
This may be good news for you my friend- and to anyone else with a 2017-2020 with the JBL system and less than 36,000 miles...

Thank you. Oddly enough, I was at the Toyota Dealer for my first oil change as you posted this. So I took a gamble and pulled up the TSB and showed it to the service writer. He of course had no clue about it and dismissed it saying something like "Oh we don't keep up with TSB's like that. If you have something you want us to look at you'll have to make a separate appointment and let us have it for the day". Trust me, I knew right there, he was in NO WAY going to ever help me with an issue like this. After reading the TSB, the first thing is "Confirm Problem Exists" (paraphrasing)... Sound quality is subjective to the max so I don't see myself leaving it there all day for them to say "We don't hear anything wrong with it"...
Either way, Thanks for the info!

Update: I wasn't too happy with my service writer from that visit I mentioned above and when they asked me to fill out a survey, I did. I wasn't overly critical, just honest. I said I didn't feel like the service writer cared one way or another about my 4runner and was focused on just getting through his day and running cars in and out of there, high volume. I said that the service wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't great either and they are such a big dealer that you will never get the feeling you are dealing with a home town dealer who genuinely cares about you or your car...
Well, I got a call from the Service Manager and he was very apologetic and I talked him through why I felt that way and mentioned the TSB that the service writer was disinterested in... A few days later, I got a call that he went ahead and ordered new speakers for me and I have an appointment to drop it off and have them replaced next week. Of course, your mileage may vary, but those surveys are important to them for sure.
Cheers!

That’s awesome! I know Toyota makes a big deal about those surveys so I’m not too surprised to hear this, but I’m glad you’re getting take of!
I’m curious which part numbers they’ll be using
Let me know if they really sound that much better because I may be better off just buying the same!

I will post back here after it's done. My appointment is in two days (Friday the 19th). Honestly, I have low expectations that it will sound any different at all, but I will surely let you know.

Well, I took the 4runner in today for the speaker replacement. I completely forgot to ask for the old parts!
Anyway, they replaced the two dash tweeters:
Part Numbers: 86150-35091 and 86150-35120
I was very skeptical and doubtful that it would sound any different and I have to say, so far, I was pleasantly surprised. The stereo seems to have a much fuller range. I am no expert, but I do know a bit about sound (I once spent a year on the road as a roadie for a band)...
The difference was very noticeable as soon as I turned the radio on. I haven't had any phone calls go through yet so I'll have to see how they sound, but either way, I'm happy.
Before: The stereo sounded very flat, no matter what settings you tried for Bass, Mid and Treble. It sounded like ALL sound was coming only from the dash, almost like the front door speakers weren't even connected.
Now it the front door speakers are all in and you can tell. You can even feel the bottom end thumping in the doors where there wasn't any before.
So, your mileage may vary, but I am happy.
Best of luck to you all.
