KDSS 5th gen suspension AND body lift????

Is it possible to do a say 2-5”-3” suspension lift on a 4runner WITH AND IN ADDITION to a 2/3” body lift??? What would need to be replaced?? Would it affect KDSS? If so or if not what else may be affected ?

Body lift should not affect KDSS. The biggest concern I would have is doing a 2-3 inch body lift. I have heard of a few attempts at a 2" BL with alot of issues and I have not heard of any 3" BL's on the 5th gen. I am running a 3" suspension lift + 1" BL lift w/ KDSS and no issues.

Question That brings up a question

I'm also looking at a spacer kit (I don't want to spend all the money on a complete suspension do-over) for a 2014 4WD Limited and I'm being asked if I have the electronic leveler/pneumatic suspension leveler thingamajobby. Apparently some have it, some don't.

How the hell do I figure that out? Is there something in/on the vehicle I can use to easily identify that, am I going to need to crawl under it and manually inspect, or will I have to call the original dealer with the VIN?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

A body lift is not the way to go. You may run into wiring and cable (parking and trans) issues. Plus you're putting extra leversge on the body mounts. A buddy ripped a mount from the body on his Ranger.

Thanks! I really appreciate the help. So can I do the spacer kit or should I just spend the extra $1,500 and get some kind of suspension lift/upgrade?

Depends on what your goal is. If you want the lift for purely looks, then I would go spacers. If you want to make your truck more functional off-road and handle additional weight better, then I would consider going with a suspension lift.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do. 1” body lift.. any problems ? Anything to look out for? You did 1” all around? What spacers. ?

Spacer lifts go on the suspension which is different than a body lift. I have had no issues with doing a 1" body lift.

I know ZERO, about body lifts, is this something you buy for all 4 corners? What’s a decent brand? Or can you just get anything off Amazon?

A body lift is just spacers above each body mount of the vehicle, so all of them underneath. It's a cheap way to get "lift," but they were really designed to be a cheap way to fit bigger tires. You don't gain ground clearance or anything. I wouldn't run them on a 4Runner and instead do the job right with a suspension lift. If I were lifting an old Chevy truck wanted a cheap way to fit 38s then sure, I'd go for it.
