^ This. I do some objectively crazy things to house my vehicles, but I can't fathom buying a >$50k truck and then spending another couple of grand on top for mods just to park it on the street. Especially when it has a near 100% chance of being damaged by where I park it.

The last time I was in the DC area the hotel where we stayed advertised a maximum clearance of 6 feet in their garage, which is about 6 inches lower than my Trail Edition. However, the actual ceiling height in the garage was over 7 feet. The only thing that has ever touched in a hotel garage anywhere is the radio antenna. I think the hotels understate their clearance heights for liability purposes.
Be aware for low hanging fruit. Fire sprinklers and HVAC duct work and light fixtures, may be at the advertised height of 6 feet "somewhere" in the structure, but not at ceiling height.
So as some one stated it could be a liability thing.

Buy a home outside of DC and leave the truck there.
Buy a 5 year old Civic and park it in a garage.
Sell the big place in DC and buy a studio to “live” in M-F.

Or

Move to a state/area thats not an overcrowded liberal shithole and have a better life for you and your family.

Just say’n

This is my setup. I live in a nice area with a garage and park in a decent area at work also, but, there are still plenty of bad and inconsiderate drivers. I personally like the look and functionality of all of these mods. I will eventually upgrade to a lo pro bumper in the future.
Tyger front bull bar with compression rubber license plate holder. Shrockworks sliders, Tyger step tube half bumper with locking pin. Also added two rubber bumper pads to each corner of the rear bumper. Thinking about adding a couple to the front corners below the fog lights. Bull bar is inexpensive and an easy install. $179. Tyger rear bumper step was $129, but the tongue was too long and ran into the spare. CARID, where I purchased it from, said, keep it at no cost. Cut the tongue. Bumper pads were ~$11 for the pair and the Shrockworks sliders were $500 shipped on a good deal a few years ago. I’m happy with them all, and the front and rear guards have been hit a few times without incident.

It is noon now… and DC already smells like a lot of BS (or sh*%t)… sad part: I am more than 1000 miles away and even I can smell it... LOL ..

Just say’n.

To OP: I think the easiest thing to do would be removing that roof rack.

I have a 2021 TRDP. I just laid a 2x4 across the rack at its highest point, where one of the crossbars clamps to the side tube. From the ground to the bottom of the board was 78 inches -- 6'6".

That's with stock tires, no additional lift.

Thank you sir! Hadn’t had a chance to measure yet.

I haven’t been back to DC in a few days, but will be walking the garage with a tape measure soon. Thanks for this man
