Failing emissions inspection help? Stating vin is vehicle simulator.

Failing emissions inspection help? Stating vin is vehicle simulator. Mechanic says obd is not communicating with scanner.. I have a 2016 trd pro 4runner 50k miles.. only aftermarket parts is a alpine halo 9 and ditch lights..mechanics believes it has to do with the stereo? Please help

Is the radio hooked up to CAN network? If so not can cause data crash.if it only uses the radio harness. (2 plugs) and no can support then it’s not the radio

It has the maestro rr which gives control to steering wheel for volume..and there’s a wire connected to the obd for tire info and gauges

in the alpine you should have settings for obd2 communications through the can network.
if you can normally see your tire pressure through the alpine, you probably have it set to always on.

need to turn it off for inspections. the maestro rr only taps 1 wire. at the obd2 connector, but you shouldn't need to disconnect.
