What winch with CBI Front Bumper
I’ve got a CBI full aluminium bumper on order. At the moment o have a Smittybuilt x20 Comp winch with Synthetic line on order. Main reason I choose this was the wireless remote and the fact that Warns entry level winch is also built in China.
It looks like the CBI bumper has terrible access to the winch clutch handle. So was thinking maybe the Warn Platinum would be great as it’s clutch less. However, I’ve read so many reviews about the Warn Platinum wireless controller been junk and having issues.
Any CBI bumper owners out there? What did you install? Did you encounter any issues?
Thanks in advance.

Hahaha yes CBI. CRB is something work related that I’ve been writing about recently.

Just curious if you got your bumper already and if you decided on the winch. Got one on order myself now and also looking at winches for it. Thanks!

Have you tried looking at the Sherpa 4x4 out of Australia? I haven't had a chance to actually try it yet, but I currently have their Mustang 9500 lb. winch being installed on my 2019 TRD OffRoad with front and rear Expedition One Store bumpers. They have some videos showing how well it works after being submerged in salt water for 24 hours. It's a super high quality winch. Check it out.:thumb3

It's a company that makes vehicle off-road protection. They also own Prinsu rack, I believe.

CBI installed mine with the bumper. Went with a Smittybilt X20 (10k), synthetic line, and a Flatlink. Does the job, so no complaints here.

just word of warning on the smittybilt x2o...the bracket that holds the solenoid box has rusted to shiet and lots of washboards/corregation caused the bracket to fail around the rusted area's and smittybilt has no ETA or replacement part for it...so my solenoid box is held on to the drum with ALOT of zip ties until i decide to go to home depot and ghetto fab something for it.
Apparently this is pretty common, just food for thought....

Check out the Gen3 X20. They have some pretty nice upgrades to it.

I just finished an install of my CBI bumper and both a Warn M8000 and VR 9.5 would not fit without relocating the control pack. Luckily that is pretty easy to do with the existing wiring. You can just attach the control pack to the headlight bumper support bar on the passenger side using some washers and bolts.

X20 in my CBI bumper, I did have to cut a small piece off the bumper to clear the AC line coming off the condenser.

I also went with a ComeUp winch purchased from Mule. Have really liked it so far.
