Its all computers now. The speed and ODO are no longer linked in a linear fashion.
That's a good idea.

I'll see if I can set something up next time I'm going on a highway trip and measure them both.

my speedometer shows 80.. my gps shows 85-86.. varies a bit through the speed range.
