OEM skid plates missing? part question

So I noticed on OEM skid plate there are two points for attaching something?
I marked these points as red circles.
Is there some part which is selling on the market which can be put there?
I marked it as green rectangle

Thanks, I understand it's normal.
But is there any additional armor which can easily be added there and will not require buying all skid plates for $2.5k?

Toyota only offers the TRD which is weak in itself but there's nothing OEM that goes further back. My Bud Built skids were just over $1K, not 2.5.

Limited/Nightshade.

It was just up in the air today. If you posted this last night, I would have taken a clear pic for ya.

I'll see what I can grab in daylight. No promises.

Pretty sure this is what you are wondering about.

Pay no mind to the "discoloration". It is just some rust preventative.

You are looking from the "B" pillar looking to the front passenger wheel here.

2016 Limited. Another angle. Definitely a small skid plate there on mine.

Toyota = plastic skid plates?

Probably for the U-Joint. Deflect debris.

The TRD skid is not all that weak. It is 1/4" aluminum which is much better than the original thin sheet metal skid. I hit a good size rock last year while off roading in Colorado; put a scrap in it and took off one of the TRD letters, but no dint and no other damage.

Thank you for great photos!
That's useful, so at least on Limited they put that.

Steel? Is it aftermarket?
A heavy piece of steel dangling back there off of two bolts?

Sorry. I’m not a metallurgist, maybe it’s not steel. It’s a thick piece of metal held on by two bolts.
