However! Know the anytime camera peeps change up the wiring. I ordered on camera with a harness and literally no less than 6 months later I had to order the harness again and this time it was slightly different. BUT, the new harness was actually better than the previous one so I didnít have a problem with it. It was actually easier to hook up.

I ended up using my own switch. I'm not sure if theirs has illumination.

Check the rca connections on the switching relay.

One last question: It's normal for your reverse lights to turn on when the switch is engaged, right?

No. They shouldn't go on. Maybe your harness doesn't have the diode needed to block power from reaching the lights.

Get in touch with the seller. Use the Anytime site. He doesnít seem to check his forum PMs often.

I tried an install on my 21' today. I have the correct front/back 20-21 kit. I have the same problem. It switches to front camera in either front/back switch position, or when I shift to reverse it shows front as well. I get a quick flash of the back camera but it ends up on Front camera. I've checked all my connections multiple times. If i swap RCA's it will do the same except show the back camera in both switch positions and reverse. I've emailed them, hopefully I hear back soon.

I would hope these guys checked for 2021 compatibility before selling as such. I hope they didnít assume because itís a 5Gen then it should be the same. If multiple people are getting the same issue then....

Also, I know I had a problem on my 2020 where I did two things wrong:

1 - on the back of the radio there is actually two small plugs you can use. One works and one doesnít. Did you try both? The bigger plug only has one place to go so that one is easy.

2 - because of the different cameras they sell over time, sometimes you cut the white wire. Sometimes you cut the green wire. Did you try both?

When you turn the ignition On but do not start, then toggle the switch from the center position to up (Front), do you hear the relay click? Then does it click again when the switch is returned to the center (normal) position?

If no, the relay is hosed, or the control wire or ground wire to the relay is connected wrong.

Yes, I tried with ignition off and on. My grounds, 3 of them are all tied to one wire I ran to a bolt under the dash. Verified they're grounded with a meter. Since it appears to be a switching issue, my first though was the relay. Compared to most components I've come across, it does seem very "generic" and inexpensive. Unfortunately I don't anything similar relays laying around to try out. Hopefully Anytime will get back to me, I've emailed them. I was saving the camera mounting step for last, so I was able to pull everything back out intact. All I need to do to test it out again it pop out the head unit and plug everything back in.

There are 2 white plugs from the harness that go into to back of the headunit. They're the largest of the plugs so I wouldn't call them "small". About 1.5" wide each. They are each different so they only fit the corresponding plug.

Since the front camera works, I was able to at least cut the correct wires (green, white) to reverse image and remove the overlay lines. That had effect on when the camera comes on.

I believe I've found the solution. Brian at Anytime emailed me.

The problem is I followed the TacoTwonz video on YouTube. In the video they show all colored wires connected together. This is wrong. Red from camera doesn't go to red on switch harness.

There's a diagram on anytime's website.

Component Diagram
– Anytime Backup Camera

Regardless of which camera you use, standard or premium, the red wire from the camera should go to the green wires switch/relay. (Different red wire depending on camera, see diagram)

I'll try it out tomorrow, hopefully this fixes it.

I totally forgot I had that problem too!

I emailed Brian and told him the red and green wires make a difference last year. I did red/red to green and this didnít work. I fixed it by doing red/green to red.

I did red/red to green because I thought it looked better. Apparently relays donít care about what you think looks better.

I wouldnít think that would cause your specific problem though but hopefully it fixes it.
