Installed the Anytime front camera and now my A/C stays on when the vehicle is off

I bought the harnesses a couple years ago and finally got around to installing it today. Thought I followed the directions, but I must have done something wrong. What could I have messed up to allow the A/C to work with no key in the ignition?

Evidently, the 12v source has to be an ignition wire, not a direct connection to the battery? Still confused why it would matter in this case.

How can the ac run without the motor running? not possible because the compressor pulley has to be engaged by the drive belt.

It's probably the blower motor. Either the blower motor resistor is bad or blower motor relay. Some where along that circuit.

But I disconnected the 12v line from the battery to the camera relay and it no longer blows. I can't understand how this could be affecting the blower.

Not sure why but it's energizing the blower motor when you hookup the dash cam. Will have to look at the wiring diagram and how you have it hooked up.

Could be the ground you chose. Disconnect the lighting and see if it does it.

I am no expert on the wiring involved in this, but the fan is most likely connected to an ignition on only circuit and perhaps you somehow shorted the new camera lead to that ignition on circuit causing it to be live always.

Nevermind. I forgot that I used a different switch.

What year is your vehicle? Perhaps the wiring is slightly different. Toyota loves doing crap like that.

i'd be very concerned that you're energizing something that you shouldn't be, even if relocating the power source fixed the problem

Check all of your wiring connections. You connected something wrong.
I sympathize with you. The instructions and wiring diagrams of the Anytime camera kit are not the best.

Remove everything you hooked up!
Research your connections, and start over, period!

Bingo. For some reason I feel convinced this is likely the culprit.

However! Know the anytime camera peeps change up the wiring. I ordered on camera with a harness and literally no less than 6 months later I had to order the harness again and this time it was slightly different. BUT, the new harness was actually better than the previous one so I didnít have a problem with it. It was actually easier to hook up.
