TRD skid plate question. Reading horror stories

So I want to put a trd skid plate on my new 4r. Reading horror stories about oil changes, dealers, bolts and what not. I know ther are other options like RCI. Though I came across this skid plate. It’s the TRD plate but with a oil change opening. I’d rather never remove the whole skid plate unless I have to after reading all the stories.

Here is the skid with the opening. Anyone with any info on this or first hand experience? Thanks.

Many have changed the skid plate mounting bolts for studs. Makes it much easier to take the skid plate off for oil changes. There is a thread on this forum that shows how to do it.

The TRD skid plate is bad enough, I'd be scared to see how terrible a Chinese replica will be

Rci

Go with the RCI. I have their aluminum skid, and it is REALLY nice.

I agree with Mike, I have purchased the TRD one a year ago and recently had issues taking it off and on after hitting a few things. I would look around to see what other options you like and go with that. I am going to end up selling mine for the RCI.

i installed the cartrimhome skid plate on my 4runner and it definitely makes oil changes easier.

only negative was the red letters not aligning properly in the skid plate
