I'm currently rocking gunmetal 17x9 -38 SCS F5's and love them. But just like you, I've always loved TE37's so I just put down for a deposit for a set of 17x8.5 -10 in matte blue gunmetal! Wait time is 4+ months right now for special colors but matte black, bronze, and matte red should be available now.

Thanks man. Any mods needed for the 17*9 SCS? If you don’t mind me asking, how much is that set of TE37’s putting you back?

The 17x9 SCS with -38 offset is going to rub. Mine are wrapped in 295/70/17. Aftermarket UCAs with high caster or adjustable caster will help, also needed to do body mount chop, remove front mudflaps, trim pieces of plastic in front and behind the front wheels. There are plenty of threads that talk about how to get these wheels to fit without rubbing on stuff. I did not have to touch the pinch weld, but YMMV depending on how big of a tire you go.

Also, the comments regarding these wheels being sold out all the time are correct. If you really want these, you probably won't be able to impulse buy them. Go to the Tacoma forum, SCS has a thread where they update availability, and then they will all sell out probably in a matter of hours. At least that was how I was able to get mine.

I love the large PCD 18” te37’s for the 4 runner. They are super concave and one of the sexiest variants of the Te37’s and it comes in all different kinds of colors. The new version of the 17” te37x so don’t look like te37’s in my opinion.

Have you checked out the Advan RG-D2’s? They’re 17x8.5 and weigh 21 lbs. I’m running a set in Umber Bronze.

^ Basically what he said and you should definitely lift it as well.

Also, TE37XT's are putting me back $3180 shipped from System Motorsports. I was only required to put down a $500 deposit to special order my set but will be sending monthly payments to chip down the total cost before they arrive.

I wouldn't call SCS rims high end by any means, if we were to go by pricing by itself. They are lightweight, toyota specs, and have clean designs within its price range, which makes them very popular.

Unfortunately, they do sell out relatively quickly, and SCS does keep the demand high, by keeping the supply artificially low. Good for them...bad for us.

I run f5's in 17x9 and I will never get rid of my set or upgrade to anything else. The clean 5 spoke / deep dish design appeals to my JDM poor college civic days...VTEC YO!!!!!

VOLK TE37 Bronze 18s. Run 285/65/18 Tires. Probably Nitto Ridge Grapplers. These wheels are about the baddest you can put on. I just got a set. Cost me 3500.

TEs especially if you have the $$$ for it.

I’m a fan of Made in Japan Enkei wheels. I’ve always loved the RPF1.

Enkei started offering their RPT1 for trucks and SUVs I think look great.
