Thanks for the info. I think I remember your story go going to the Jeep and regretting it soon after and coming back to a 4R. If you were to do it again with your 2020 do you think you would go cloth now that you have experienced the Softex?

Yeah, that was me. If I could have a do-over I would go back to my '10 TE and be done. I liked it better in many ways over the '20 ORP, mostly appearance but also the lack of safety nannies, etc. I also liked it better than a $60k Rubicon. LOL

Given my current situation, things like keyless entry, heated seats & mirrors, power passenger seat, Homelink, etc. that you get with the Premium negate my slight subjective preference of the cloth over the softex.

What disappoints me most is that the '21 models all have the LED headlights and those of us with '20 model year are stuck with the crap halogens.

I chose the premium for the heated seats alone! I’ll never buy a vehicle without them ever again. Softex vs cloth? I put seat covers over the softex because I have small children and they would just ruin the seats. All my vehicles have Wet Okale seat covers - they clean easily, very durable, and look great. The Premium is definitely worth all the little extras you get.

+1 I didn’t even want them but now that hell has frozen over, my wife immediately turns these on before her bottom end makes contact.

I got the OR and am fine without any of the premium options. Don't see a need for most of them.

Id say go with the OR and then add the Katzkin leather option. Thats what I did. It offers heated and cooled options along with infinitely better leather than the Softex. If you have dogs/kids cloth is a terrible idea IMO.

Good luck, but you cant go wrong either way

I've had factory leather in my previous 4Runner, and Landcruiser. And Katzkin aftermarket leather in another vehicle. The Softex is more durable, and doesn't require the constant conditioning that leather does.

If you decide on the OR with cloth, I highly recommend the neoprene seat covers from Cabelas. They fit fairly well and will protect your OEM seats from most anything and are surprisingly cool. A bargain at 34.99 right now. Access Denied
