Any interest in making one that works with the sliding cargo tray?

If there's enough interest, possibly. Do you know how common the cargo trays are in the 4Runner community?

I believe the cargo tray was only offered on the Trail/TRD Off Road models, but I could be wrong. My 2014 Trail has the sliding tray, which I've removed to make room for a homemade drawer system myself. For the most part, when I see people doing drawers, they remove the tray first to save space, as the OEM tray mechanism takes up about 3-4" of useable height.

We've been able to avoid the squeak in a few ways:

Most importantly is the turnbuckles are angled in such a way that they lock each other in place when tightened, all counter-acting each other. As you tighten one it increases tension on the other. In other systems we've seen turnbuckles in a nearly vertical orientation, just trying to smash the system into the floor as hard a possible. You will inherently have movement and thus squeaks that way.

We also use a lock-nut on the turnbuckle, so once it's tightened you don't see it work it's way loose over time.

We are using all stainless throughout. It's possible that other systems are using zinc-coated steel, which can contribute to the squeak.

The system is incredibly secure to the vehicle. You can shake the vehicle by grabbing the platform and shaking it.
this is great to see. i got my sleep system tight with the turnbuckles as well but the next weak link is the stock tie down spots, i broke 2 on our last trip lol. Looking to re build it but tie into the actual body of the 4runner via the OEM threaded rivnuts....i also managed to rip the screws out of the sleep platform lol

Here it is! We were able to test fit our shorter height 4Runner system last week. This system is approximately 2" shorter than our existing offering, and results with the platform being level with the wheel wells. We re-shaped the wings to accomodate, and utilize the wheel well cubbies themselves.

The resulting drawers have just shy of 8 inches of useable height. We've modified the beauty panels to match, and frankly, i think these dimensions/proportions look better even!

We'll have this on the website shortly, and based on the interest this may become our standard 4Runner offering, with the taller version available as an option.
