2020 vs 2021 Pro FOX shocks, REAR

I know Toyota says they revalved the fox pro suspension for 2021. The fronts are different for sure. my fronts are being replaced under warranty TSB with 2021 parts ( i have a 2020).

My question is..
Are the rears a different part number 2020 vs 2021? or did only the fronts change?

I would think it would be reasonable to ask Toyota to replace the rears if they are different as different tuning may affect performance. I would ask the dealer, but it took them four tries to figure this out(even though there was a TSB on it).

Its reasonable to ask. I don't think the rear shocks are different. The front re-valve solved a cold weather clunking problem. The rears didnt have that issue.

It's the same shocks all around since they first came out on the Pro Bro. The only difference in the front is may an internal soft stop to keep the noise down.

How can Toyota keep messing this up when people have been installing lifts on their fifth generation since they came out with minimal problems?

Didn't know that. If they went up in spring rate then people will say it rides too rough.

I don't know if spring rate is different, the springs are cut different. Somewhere here is a thread showing the difference between the 2021 TRD Pro fronts and earlier ones.

This is nothing compared to all the documented issues (and denial thereof...) Ford has had with the MT-82 transmission in the Mustang since it was introduced for 2011.

I'd much rather have a noisy shock than bent shift forks, broken shifters, missed shifts from lockout, clutch slipping, etc, all on a stock car.

The front springs are open coil not closed coil meaning the coils at the bottom end are farther apart and a different bottom perch also to accommodate the new springs

That is correct (about the spring type)

as far as spring rate or valving, somewhere I have heard that the valving has been changed (retuned dampers that Toyota says are intended to improve isolation during trail driving....according to a Car and Driver article)

Not sure if that covers rears as well. Anyways, thought I might be able to score some new rear shocks too (if they are different) If not, no big deal.

I will probably go the dealer parts counter and figure it out...after they reopen from the big snowpacolypse.

Why is toyota replacing your fronts under warranty? Whole assembly, or just shocks?

See this TSB

Whole assembly....initially I was going to have the dealer place the eibach springs while he had it apart...But they said they were not breaking them down, they were replacing whole coil-over.

Same here. One time, I got locked out of a 1-2 shift, and the clutch slipped like a mofo. That's the moment I knew I had to get out of that car.
