Catalytic Converter Lock Question

Aloha all,

I wanted to poll the community to see what your thoughts were on cat locks for your 4runner. With the clearance, and add'l one at that with the lift, a thief can basically eat lunch underneath, facetime his gf, all while he goes to town.

I had a bad experience in my tacoma. They didn't steal it, but still cut it where had to be welded.

I know that a determined cat bandit can steal it no matter what, given time, and a lock acts more of a deterrent. Just wanted to see if you guys purchased one, which one, and thoughts? Thanks!

Good way to justify full skid plates.

Good timing to see this- a few cars at my apartment building had theirs cut off and stolen at 4:51am this morning. For whatever reason they didn’t touch mine though, thankfully, for whatever reason

Hmmm. You know the precise time of the thefts to the minute. Other cars were victimized, but not yours. I’m no detective, but ...

We have seen a massive increase in catalytic converter theft recently hear in Colorado. We just released our Cat Skid Guard for 5th Gens to help deter thieves. Works with factory skid plates. We also released our skid plate set which offers cat protection on the rear skid plate. Sucks we need this extra protection nowadays but definitely a good piece of mind.
