2018 wont go above 2500 rpm
So Im up in Yosemite (on road!) and I left my lights on last night. I used a self-start jumper to get it going, and that must have messed something up.... Engine light on, TRAC light on, and it will not go above 2500, or about 1500 in drive. So it only goes 8 MPH.
ANy idea what I did, how I can fix it in Yosemite?

I don’t have a specific answer but if you think your 4R battery is strong enough, I would disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10-15 minutes and see if the electronics reset its self. Kind of a reboot for the electrical system.

If I'm not mistaken, similar symptoms (limp mode) happened to Brenan (@Trail4r) from trail4runner.com.
Check out this link:
Limp Mode on 5th Gen 4Runner & Zero Point Calibration (SOLVED)
If you scroll down to final thoughts, it turns out the issue with his truck was a water leak that eventually corroded some connector pins behind the driver kick panel.
Best of luck!

Check your fuses. Some time it happens when people jump started cars and mixed up negative with positive. Most likely ECU fuse.

I have a 2017 SR5 with 80k miles and mine had the same thing happen yesterday except the battery wasn't dead. It gets up to speed slowly because it keeps shifting once it hits 2000 rpm. Going to try disconecting the battery to see if that helps

As with anything that trips the dash lights...
Confirm your fuses are good. Kick panel and engine compartment. If all check out.. disconnect the battery for 10-30 minutes. That should reset those faults and be good togo. If not... hopefully you have a CEL and can get a co¹de pulled to see whats going on.

We see this at times on some other models (Lexus) check either the dc cut fuse or tcc fuse. Possibly ecu fuse but tcc and dc cut are the most common we see with this issue.
