Tired of 2020 TRD pro exhaust drone
Does this drive anyone else crazy? if so have you replaced it yet or have plans too.
Based on parts drawings, I believe I can just swap the resonator (muffler) and keep the side exit portion. I bought a regular 2018 muffler off of fleabay, but have yet dive in. My runner is in the shop waiting on FOX shock TSB parts and they gave me an SR5.....it is much more pleasant to drive. While i appreciate a "performance" exhaust, it really makes no sense on a slow vehicle.
anyone else make the swap?

I've read quite a few people have made the swap - most of them look for someone local to do a trade + cash with but you already bought the muffler lol. Good luck!

Yes I swapped mine and it was the best thing I've done to the 4R.

Was it a straight swap and able to keep the side exit pipe section?

2021 TRD Pro Exhaust Feelers
I just picked up a 2021 TRD Pro 4Runner with about 9500 miles, thinking about changing out the exhaust for something with a little less drone, anyone interested in purchasing it? I'm in South Carolina but might consider shipping, let me know.

This is not a direct swap. The front muffler has a 2 bolt flange on it, while the Pro muffler has a 3 point flange on it. Also I installed the Pro exhaust on my 2014, it’s definitely louder than OEM but it’s not annoying at all. I’ve had Gibson and Magnaflow on the 4Runner and both of those definitely drone.

I dislike loud or exhaust that drones...
Best thing to do is just swap with someone who wants it and have them pay for the labor since it's an "upgrade" for them.

I don't find it that loud at all, or any drone really. Unless I step on it, then it gets loud, paired up with the K&N intake, sounds great, but on the highway when just cruising its perfect. Maybe this is because I come from louder cars lol.
Does this TRD exhaust actually have any performance gains over the regular or is it just for sound?

No performance gains. I also dislike the placement for off-road stuff. I do not even notice the drone really, but I also come from loud exhaust v8 cars. I will keep it because it seems to put my son to sleep.

i sold my stock exhaust to someone who is doing a muffler project. He plans to use the non pro muffler but keep the side exhaust. This will require some welding to match the flanges.

'21 TRD Pro Muffler - who wants to swap?
I'm in the same camp as many, like it 50% of the time, but hate it the other 50%. Who's got a non-TRD pro muffler w/around 25k miles and would be interersted in swap? I know the TRD has a 3 bolt flange on the back end, and the non-TRD has two, but I'm planning on going to a muffler shop to change the flange so I can keep the side TRD exhaust pipe.
Let me know, I'm in WI - you'd send me yours, I'll make the swap and send you back mine.
