Roof Rack Mounting Points 2021 4Runner TRD Pro
Does anyone know if the mounting points for roof racks remain in the same place in the 2021’s? I am looking to replace my TRD Pro Roof Rack with the OEM roof rack and rails that come on the SR5’s and Off-Road versions and I want to make sure it will line up perfectly.
NOTE: It is likely, and would make the absolute most sense, that Toyota did not move these mounting points, but I just want to me sure before I go down this road. Any help would be appreciated.

The 2020s are the same -- I've seen Army Green Pros with OEM side rails and crossbars installed to replace the Pro rack. My dealer told me the 2021 is the same, and I haven't seen any indication otherwise.
I thought about replacing my Pro rack with the side rails/cross bars too, but unless you can find someone to trade with, it seems unreasonably expensive to buy all the OEM parts separately -- might as well spring for a Sherpa rack or something.
And now that I've been driving it around, the Pro rack is growing on me, TBH. I might just keep it.

AgentKooper - Your response is much appreciated. Thank you for that!! I am glad to hear that the mounting points are good to go. I have some tough lower parking garages to get into, so I want to just see if I can lower the rack profile a bit before I do. The funny part is that I had my rails from my SR5 forever as I put an after-market rack on there. I literally gave them away less than a year before I decided to pull the trigger on this TRD Pro. It always happens that way when you need it. I don’t see much anymore in relation to giveaways either. It’s crazy but everyone wants a mint for their stuff. It is what it is, so I will have to purchase one.
I agree with your assessment thought that it may be cheaper to buy another low profile roof rack versus trying to get your hands on an OEM rack for a decent price.
This rack reminds me so much of the OEM rack that came on my FJ. I just never really warmed up to it. But, I will maybe give it a chance to see if it grows on me. It just reminds of of the Nissan OEM racks though unfortunately. Kind of like why I sold my 2020 Land Rover Defender 110. Because it looks like a Kia Soul. LOL. Look it up, you will get a laugh out of it.

Drive to Colorado, and I'll trade you for my OE rack.

Yeah, hard to get around the height problem if that's an issue. I just drove into my first parking garage with mine yesterday -- luckily it was 8'6" clearance. I've never had to pay much attention to that before, so I'm curious to see what all the garages clearances around town are now.
Just to confirm 2021 rack fit, here's a thread with photos of a 2021 Pro with OEM (I presume) side rails installed:
2021 TRD Pro Lunar Rock- Not really a build thread

Great find! That’s exactly what I want to do with the LFD crossbars and it just so happens that mine is a Lunar Rock as well. Again, great find as the really helps and confirms everything. If you haven’t see the Lunar Rock on a Pro yet, it’s really an incredible color. I see postings all the time where people either love it or hate it. I noticed that many of those folks that throw shade at the color, have never seen it in person. I haven’t found a picture yet that really captures the color, so it’s something you have to see in person. Some are close, but it more reminds me of a dull puddy like grey/green and some pictures make it look like a mint green. Which it is not. Thanks again and have a good one!!!

I have a Lunar Rock as well. I love it. Agreed that it’s difficult to capture in a photo, but it’s awesome in person. My favorite Pro color was always Cement, but I like this even better. I get compliments on it from random passers by all the time.
Good luck with the rack. Post some photos if you do it. I like the LFD solution as well.

I like the looks of the OEM TRD Pro Rack but not liking the useability--I could fit my kayak saddles and a fly rod rack on my 4th Gen. I finally figured out a way to mount my kayak reasonable low but I can't fit my fly rod rack. May look to trade with someone in my area someday or go w/aftermarket solution. My '21 TRD Pro is MGM but I do really like the Lunar Rock.

Strange that the fly rod rack won't fit. Not even with crossbars mounted on the top level?
Yeah, I'm still trying to get used to the functionality as well. I think I would have been happy to purchase it will the regular old side rails and crossbars from the factory, but so far I'm not motivated enough to change it out. Best case for me would be if LFD or someone would come up with some beefier crossbars that would fit the Pro rack and allow more mounting options.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The fly rod rack won't fit with the kayak at the same time. It's going to sit pretty high of I do mount it.

Too bad I don’t know someone right now making a round trip that way. In the FJ Cruiser forum, back in the day, you could sometimes find someone doing just that. Especially for the Summit, but I don’t know anyone right now.

Screw it, bro. Let's look at a good weekend, we'll figure somewhere in the middle, and I'll bring a bottle of bourbon and tools.

That’s a great offer, but that is quite a distance for both of us. I would have to really put some thought into that.

Yes, I removed the TRD Pro rack and bought non-Pro roof rails from CL. The mounting points are indeed the same and it was an easy install once you get the pro rack off. I have the LFD crossbars on there as well.
