i was a early adopter. sounds great to me. just sucks that they changed things so many times since initial release. my amp is the kind that has no upgrade path.

I'm ordering the JBL Enhancement with dual subs for my '21 limited.

My 2012 F150's factory sony system was worlds better than this JBL system.

I did the speakers sub and dedicated amp kit. Plug and play was important to me as well as reliability and keeping the stock look. I’ve done a ton of car stereo installs but I just wanted clean and simple as this was my first new car. This was that. Fishing the wire behind the dash was hell. I don’t love the weird pig tail dangling battery fuse implementation. Directions were slightly out of date and they said “they’re just too busy to update them” which seems funny for a company focusing on DIY but whatever. Imaging took a second to get used to but now I like it. (I work in audio production). But over all it’s clean and loud and just what I want. I don’t need to set off car alarms. Curious what that second sub would add though.

I bought the system because of the sound from the second sub. I was able to preview it at a Toyota show. Pink Floyd's intro to "Welcome To Machine" sounded damn good. I'd still like to get it but the subs are in the way of most drawer systems.

Almost went with OEM Audio Plus for the plug and play feature, and got self into the audio rabbit hole and decided to go with Hertz DCX 87.3 (3.5"), DCX 165.3 (6.5") speakers, with a JL 8W3v3 sub in a Toyota OEM sub enclosure . I also installed Stinger Roadkill on all speakers, and Kilmat sound deadening to take advantage of the opportunity while panels were off. For head unit plug n play I went with Trailgridpro's Sony XAV7000 which comes with built-in amp (45RMS per channel) for door speakers.

Speaker brackets are Metra and the wiring adaptors can be found on Amazon.

Yes, requires a bit more elbow grease, but am VERY happy with the results.

what brand is the OEM audio plus speakers? I'm looking to just do speakers front/rear doors and dash tweeters. Taco tunes comes out to about $350 total. I did find a taco tunes 4 channel amp at a good price. Headunit will be a sony 8100.

Been enjoying my OEM system for a little over a year in my 2020 ORP.

I ordered the Reference 500 pkg with dedicated sub and amp back in early 2021. Took about 6 weeks for delivery and was $2098 all in.

Looks like the sub is now sold out - without an option to waitlist.

There's something going on with them. I ordered a 2nd sub upgrade and it took about a month to ship. Then I noticed I ordered incorrectly and I emailed them about it. I followed up 9 days later to which they replied about setting me up with some adapter but then I'm at a month since they have said anything.

What part # did you use for the OEM sub enclosure?

recommendations for new speakers?
Front components
Rear door
Tailgate maybe

Itll be paired with a sony 8100 and maybe a Taco Tunes TXD3204v3 Amplifier (havent bought it yet)

taco tunes bundle
front- Image Dynamics CTX65CS Component Speaker
Rear & tailgate - Toyota 6.5 Inch 2 Ohm 80 Watts RMS OEM Replacement Coaxial Speakers

about $470 OTD

Not looking to spend too much , would I find better speakers on crutch field for the price? I'll still need amp wiring kit and speaker wires.

Clarity and good volume with windows down

No clue as I didn't go that route. Use Crutchfield and sort by reviews to see what has better ratings. TT and OEM Audio just make it easy but they are not the best. JL usually makes really good components but they can be a little power hungry.

Its the OEM sub enclosure with subwoofer included. As far as I'm aware there is only one OEM sub enclosure which sits behind the rear right fender. It replaced the storage cubicle in that location. The interior panel then installs back in place. Did not bother to fabricate coverings to hide the exposed portions of the sub as I like the unfinished look.
