2019 TRD: Check engine, traction control off, multi-train select flashing
So I searched around and didn't see my exact symptoms... I got in today, started up: check engine on, trac off on, and green multi train select light flashing. Drove to the store and back and damned near no power when accelerating. Transmission/shifting seem a little... off/slow. I'll check the code in the morning. (No comments on the dirty cluster!)
Any ideas why all of a sudden? Only 19K miles, too!

Instead of attempting to search for a match for your exact symptoms, research all posts by
@ rigtec
that have to do with electrical issues and instrument lights. This guy knows his stuff. Good luck.

Hi Aaron!
Hmmm! 19,000 BIG ONES! You're catching me; I've got 25,058 on my 2012 LE, lol! No worries Aaron, you're okay! Have you tried doing a Master RESET yet? These trucks are just like "Windows//Micro-Soft computers!
They store a massive amount of Temporary files, History files, and fragmented parts of files that need to be De-fragged and refiled from time to time! So B-4 ya go worring and losing sleep, plan on Disconnecting your NEG battery cable for a minimum of four to five hours; I'd do that when I know I'm not going back out that night!
Then Start it up in the morning. It'll start and SHUT-DOWN... that's normal! Then start it back up. Now look at the Instrument Cluster... back to normal, yes(?)! If so, you got it! If not, we'll see what the scanner has to say, okay(?)...!
Hit me back when you can, and we'll take it from there! ...Don't worry, you're okay, lol!
rig, Cheers!

Ensure the gas cap is on tight? Or the seal is sitting well. As soon as the tank pressure escapes those exact symptoms typically occur. I changed to a locking cap and next morning, same deal. Tried other ones, same deal.
Now I just use the thing when I feel the need somewhere but I’ll get the same symptoms unless I put the OEM cap back and plug into the OBDII port to clear things up before driving off. That’s my 2 cents

It may not be all that bad. Vacuum out all that mess, clean up rodent urine etc with isopropyl alcohol. Assess all the sliced wires. From the photo it looks like you can cut out the damaged sections of wire, solder in new lengths of wire, and heat shrink the soldered joints. Don’t crimp or use those quick heat splices, use real tin-lead solder and copper wire of the correct gauge. Do a good job. Test it all out and when satisfied reinstall the plastic sheath and use heat resistant tape to seal it up. Good luck.

Since you're in there you can also apply some of the oem spicy Honda rodent tape that is rodent resistant. Some folks say it works, others don't but it's relatively cheap and if it works in your case, great.

Ha. Nope. It was pouring rain last night when I went to the store so I started searching when I got home and went out and checked this morning. Just got back from the shop. Evidently it's more common than you'd think. Dude said a Taco came in a few months ago, same deal but chewed up way more.
The "limp" mode is what scared the hell out of me though. Insurance covered the tow and I can't wait to hear the damage. Also curious as to what they'll say about the Accessorides remote start I installed. (Had it for over a year so I knew that was highly unlikely the culprit.) Good times!

Have had two vehicles on our ranch have the same "nest" issue. One died in the vent system.. smelled for months. Good luck with the repairs brother.
Some gee-wiz info, maybe it will help someone who sees this thread in the future. When my stock battery failed, I jumped it and the panel showed the check engine + trac off. Installed new battery and the panel lights went away didn't need to use my code reader. I also have an accessorides start, and I believe that will sometimes throw a code if there's an electrical issue in the vehicle.

Most insurances will cover the repairs.

Had this happen right before the big freeze down here in Texas a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I was only getting a code for number 4 cylinder misfire and doing a quick look I could see some droppings, acorns and a missing section of wire going to the number 4 fuel injector.
I ran and picked up a $13 fuel injector pigtail, came home and cleaned up the mess, pulled the intake manifold and inspected for other damage. Once I verified that was the only damage I elected to splice in the pigtail, verified it resolved the issue and called it a day.
After the weather warmed up a bit a few days later I did a thorough cleaning and sprayed everything down with peppermint oil. As soon as the cinnamon, clover and cayenne oil show up I'll be mixing that with the peppermint oil and spraying everything down every couple of days for the next few weeks and then tapper off to once a week to make sure they don't come back.
