Has there ever been a dual alternator set up attempted?

Upgrading the alternator is of course popular but I'm curious if anyone has been able to fit dual alternators? I'm guessing it would probably cause more problems than it would solve though.

Not entirely sure where you'd mount it comfortably. Also with how much you'd spend to rig it up and buy a second alternator; you could buy a 300amp aftermarket one I believe? How much amperage do you really need?

I'm sure you could fab up a mount and get a belt that is the right size.

At that point, I'd be considering selling the truck and buying something with a larger engine bay and probably more capable.
