I want to go but can’t this year (big trip since I’m in PA). Here’s some motivation for Hells Gate. This guy makes it look too easy. If I make it out there, I’m going to have to attempt it...

I was just out at Toquerville falls a few weeks ago. There’s a couple different ways in. You can go the traditional Toquerville route or you can also go through LaVerkin and drive up Toquerville creek. We tried going out Toquerville creek but the Sequoia that was with us just couldn’t handle it so we went out a side road. Most of it wasn’t bad but a few sections were pretty rough. Damn RZR’s are tearing everything up!! Have fun out here there’s a lot to see!!

This may be the wrong place to ask, but I'm looking for recommendations for some easy, casual trails around the Moab area. I will be there in two weeks, coming from Phoenix, camping in Arches and Capitol Reef. I will be in the area for a week. Not looking for anything challenging. I will have two young kids with me and just want to find some easy to moderate trails to get off the beaten path and see some scenery. Just for fun, no rock crawling or extreme obstacles.
I do have sliders, AT tires, an air compressor to air down, traction boards, recovery gear, etc. Moderate level trails are fine, but nothing too technical. I don't want to get stranded with my kids. Even a simple fire road is fine if the scenery is great. Any suggestions?

Get the Fun Treks guide book for Moab area.
Around Moab - I would recommend taking Owl Draw road (north of Dewey Bridge) to the Dome Plateau overlook, Tiptoe Behind the Rocks just south of town, La Sal mountain loop, either (or both) ends of the White Rim road, Long Canyon, Spring Canyon.
Nearer to Capitol Reef - Poison Springs a few miles south of Hanksville, Burr Trail, cross the Fremont river and go north on Hartnet up to Cathedral Valley. Should also make your way a little further west from Capitol Reef to Escalante and Bryce. From Cannonville go south and check out Kodachrome and then keep going south through Cottonwood Canyon.

you can't do the La Sals right now. The pass is covered in snow and blocked by a gate. I just skied up there this afternoon. also going to escalante and bryce is not just something you tack on to a moab trip. It's over 4 hours from Moab to Bryce.

I did Fins in a totally stock TRD ORP. stock tires and eveything, no lift. hit my hitch a lot, but that's it.

La Sal loop (paved road), not La Sal Pass. He said he's going to be camping in Capitol Reef.

White Rim (I did it in a stock 3rd gen. it takes 2-3 days though and you have to get a permit). Shafer Trail. Gemini Bridges. Long Canyon. Secret Spire. Chicken Corner. 132 up to Anticline Overlook (super worth it). The southern fork of Dome Plateau (the northern fork has a couple gnarly spots). You can do Fins but you WILL hit your trail hitch, and the trail is intimidating if you aren't experienced because of the narrow fins you drive up.
get this book. Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails 3rd Edition: Charles Wells
this site has the gpx routes for the above book
FunTreks
also this map has clickable links with trail descriptions and difficulty levels
