I finally got my rear bumper on, but...... Now the swing arm won't go on
So I finally got the bumper on and I love it. It took less than 3 hours to get on including cutting the bumper. Today I spent 7 hours trying to get the drivers side swing arm on. What a nightmare. I have been in touch with LFD and he has been helpful but now I have just a plain rear bumper with swing arms in the garage because of ( God only knows). The trip we are going on in April will now be altered since I won't be able to bring the HiLift and extra fuel. I am not mad, I just wish I knew this before cutting my rear bumper, because I don't want just a plate bumper and if I did I overpaid a lot for it. I am in the market for a front bumper and LFD will not be considered, What a waste of time and money.

So what’s the issue? Post up and maybe there will be suggestions on how to resolve.

Right, it’s fine to rant but let’s see what the problem is. Pictures, detailed explanation, ect.
Ranting for the sake of ranting should not include soiling someone’s reputation without strong context of the situation. Particularly, if it there is a possibility of user error.
I will say anything fabricated should be inspected and dry assembled, it’s good to know it works and to make sure you have all the required hardware. Second and most importantly, if it requires modifications to install.
Sorry you’re having issues.

So I guess the spindle got damaged in shipping. I threw some washers under the assembled arm and it brought it really close to where I can lift it to get it on but I can't get the cotter pin on. I will post some pics when I figure out whats going on. I am trying to get it just to work until we can figure out what is going on.

If it’s truly bent I would request a new swing arm. The fabricator should be able to turn it in to the shipping companies insurance. You did get insurance, right?
I don’t think I would be happy if I had to try and bend it back knowing the metal has already been fatigued. But without pictures it’s hard for us to know what’s exactly wrong.

^agreed.
Shipping contractor should be taking care of you. Not sure why you crapped on LFD for shipping damage. That ain’t fair bro. If they don’t take care of you, certainly carpet bomb or better yet nuke the site from orbit, its the only way to be sure
And yeah this should all be made right, regardless, I get it and it still sucks.

ok but how does a spindle get damaged from shipping???? did it get driven over and then put in a press and hammered on?
what if it was shipped bent already?

Spindle is welded to plate steel, assumptive thought says the actual spindle isn’t bent but the steel it is welded too. Shipper hit it with fork lift, dropped it, fell over, who knows, freight companies f’k shit up all the time. *shrug*
The guy that own this store:
NPS Store
He has a warehouse store the size of costco a few miles from my house, everything in it is freight damaged goods. You wouldn’t believe the stuff he gets in there, everything from heavy industrial to cheap screwdrivers. He has another smaller building across the street from it that sells all the clothing, food products, supermarket stuff he gets. 20 years ago all he had was a single deep storage unit out by the airport, his business has literally exploded. It’s nuts.

What trip are you going on? What type of trails are they? I'm sure you'll be fine with a bottle jack and an extension for now. You can strap a few jerry cans or rotopax on the roof with a roof rack or yakima/thule style roof basket. Don't let a few "things" derail your trip. They are nice to have but not essential. All the times I thought I'd need extra fuel I ended up not using it and I've yet to be in a situation where a hi-lift was the ONLY tool that could get me out of the situation.

Feels like an awful lot of complaining without looking for a resolution or the possibility of user error. LFD has always been awesome to work with in my experience. Can't be dragging them through the mud for something shipping-related...
I'd love to see the pics.
