Imho
Exhaust tips, if you are into that sort of thing, are supposed to be chrome. Blacked out stuff looks cheap.

IMHO chrome looks gaudy

So, now I guess we know everyone has an opinion and none are required to match.

I got an oval one from Pep Boys. I don't have a great picture of it but I cut off the flared end of the tail pipe so it doesn't stick too far out or down. I like it, personal preference, you do you.

Wonder if they are pulling a fast one there and taking off the OEM Part. The Toyota branded one appears to be thicker, and has the logo. That’s how mine came at least but I get the fact parts distribution varies. Can’t see the OEM part getting thinned out but who knows.

No I don't think so. It came with TRD wheels but's it's not a TRD edition of any type. They just threw on the wheels and put the chrome lug nuts on it. The tailpipe part doesn't have any identifying markings and I'm sure they probably have a box of them in Houston at Gulf States.

No it’s not TRD, I agree. It’s just a new product.
Not aftermarket, it’s made by/for Toyota.

Also agree, chrome is not for everyone. A blacked out truck is a prime example.

For my situation, I would remove it (blacked out 4runner). But not for aesthetic reasons.
It would be crushed coming off rocks. Same with side exit, my mudflaps are taking a beating.

I have an MGM 5th gen and it has all the emblems blacked out and the black exhaust tip. I think it completes the look.

There were a couple of threads in the past where members reported an exhaust smell in the vehicle with the rear window down some. The problem was solved by turning the exhaust to the side like in Saker's pic.

Who really needs a 12 pound steel turd stuck to the tailpipe? Well there's my opinion.

If you don't like it, remove it or replace it.

I replaced mine with a Borla exhaust and love it
