Supercharger or Pro Charger

I recently sold my 2017 cement tundra pro with the trd supercharger on it. I now drive the wifes 2018 Calvary blue 4runner. Needless to say I am in need of some power. I was thinking the magnuson supercharger again but I saw that pro carger has a kit that has a non invasive install. Can anyone have input to help me. Thanks in advance.

Magnuson - Mostly low end to mid power
Procharger - Mostly mid to top end power

The procharger will have higher peak numbers but the magnuson tends to fill in where this engine is lacking. Really it's up to you and how you want power delivery. Towing/hauling is better with the maggie.

For a 4runner, Magnuson supercharger all day. More meat in the powerband you use the most. With the Procharger, the truck won't feel much quicker around town because the power is more focused from 4500rpm+. The 4runner will likely be quicker/faster with the Procharger, but to do it, you'll need to wring it's neck constantly.

Thank you for the insight! So the pro charger mimics a turbo feeling? Essentially the same concept except for running off of the belt and not the exhaust? So it loses low end torque because it is dragging the engine down in the middle of the power band?

There's also the URD which should be more efficient than the Magnuson but it seems to be completely vaporware

The install is a bit more involved, have to drop the fuel tank

Also if you do much highway driving, the Magnuson will make a huge difference. No more downshifting for inclines and it has tons of passing power.

the urd is excellent, i've had it for 2 years now? yes the fuel tank drop is a lot more work, added some install time. It comes with a advanced engine management system which sets it apart. If i were mere technically inclined, i would try my hands at tweaking it.

i think the procharger will give you more mpg.. i had a different centrifugal supercharger on a hemi engine, gave me a good amount of mpg increase hah.

Procharger Dyno Results?

I have yet to see anyone put a procharged 4runner on a dyno yet... They won't make boost as fast as a roots/twin screw type, but they won't be laggy like a turbo either.. I bet they are closer than most people expect...
