Window tint questions

I know each state has different tint % laws this isn't about that.

Who has done ceramic tint vs non and price difference and did it make that big of a difference from the non ceramic tint?

Thinking darker on the 2 back passenger windows and back side windows but not so dark i can't see.
Lighter tint on the 2 front doors and a strip across the top of the windshield to help with sun glare.

Also anyone know of a reputable tint shop in the northeast corner, CT, RI, Mass areas?

Thanks everyone

Hey there. I live in California where having tint on the front two window is illegal. I installed 3M Cystalline. 40% in the front and 20% on all of the rear windows (on top of the stock privacy glass). I’m overall very satisfied with how it turned out. My rig has been nice and cool. The front isn’t too dark where you can’t see through and the rear is perfect. Last night was the first night I drove in the dark and I had absolutely no issues seeing behind me or switching lanes. I paid about $650 for it all to be installed by a professional tint shop out here in LA.

IMO - Tint the entire windshield too with the lightest tint. It really helps with the heat gain. I also did the moonroof too a bit darker all in ceramic.

Just had Llumar Formula One Ceramic put on my 21 ORP by the same shop that has done three other vehicles for me. They never tried to upswell but I never inquired about ceramic because I didn’t think I would keep the vehicle long enough to warrant spending the extra cash. They have a display with a high wattage bulb and wheel with the different tints, you could really feel the difference in the heat from behind the regular Pinnacle and Ceramic, i was impressed. It ran about $200 more than the regular Llumar Pinacle to do the whole 4R, went with 40% over the rears and back glass and 15% on the fronts. It’s a pretty close match percentage wise and got the back glass where I felt it should be anyway. Oddly enough, I just realized I didn’t even take any pictures yet.

T

every tint maker has charts so you can compare the heat rejection numbers between all of their options. look em up and see if the performance difference is worth the price difference for you

i like to run as light of a tint as possible so going with ceramic gave me the benefits of a darker tint without the drop in light transmission

Last night was the first night driving at night and I had zero issues. I was able to safely change lanes and look over my shoulders without any issues. It was darker but I could see clearly. Rear window is fine. I back into my parking spot at home and I rely on my rear camera.
