I can’t even justify sticker for a Pro. My ORP with KDSS, and Pro wheels was 7k less out the door than Pro sticker price. I was hell bent on buying a Pro until the ORP I ended up buying showed up closer and I really thought about it. I’m a 99% on road driver though so there’s that.

You have to search the Toyota site using 01523 as the zip not just the dealership site. There are 2 now

There are many dealers that will sell you a TRD PRO at sticker, you just have to shop around and/or be willing to wait a few weeks.
Whether justified or not... it doesn't really matter what one thinks... the fact is that PROs are always in demand. If you can swing it, and are not planning to modify (much), it makes the most economic sense to buy a PRO. They absolutely do not lose any value (after inflation)--in fact, they may actually go up in value if you take great care of it. This is not true of the other trims, no matter how much people in this forum like to claim that is the case.
Add in the fact that there are little features that you can only get in the PRO (like auto headlights, auto and dual climate control, JBL audio, remote start, etc...), it was a no brainer for me to get one.

Thanks all for the feedback. I talked to another dealer in the area and they straight up said that is price gouging and they only sell the TRD Pro at sticker. The problem though was they aren’t planning on getting any through the rest of the year.
But at least it proved there are dealers that would sell it at sticker in the area.

I live in Boston, but just spent the last 3 months in South West FLA.....
I was thinking of buying another 4runner to keep there and get rid of the Audi wagon that lives there.
I ran into the same environment----- they add $5000 to MSRP on TRD PROs and then slap on $699 for 3 oil; changes and tire rotations, $199 for interior LED light upgrade, and $500 for paint protection.
I asked if i could order one without all the add-on's and 3 of the dealers said no, one said maybe, if they got it before it went thru the "port"?? But all were adding $5k above MSRP
Same story TRD PRO's are special, and limited production, we sell every one we get- take it or leave it.
$600 for 3 oil changes / tire rotation-------- ridiculous..I do my own oil, the dealer does not do it right anyway...striped blots on the skid plates is a common complaint,,,,I am sure they don't change the filter....just drop the oil and refill.......
I have found the dealers in New England to be opportunistic. They will try to get as much as they can. But if you tell them exactly what you want they seem to be more straight fwd on what they will and won't do.
I was thinking a Ventura would be a good compromise --- it has most of what I need, but they don't seem to ship any to FLA with KDDS and sunroofs ??? So in summary I will buy in New England
I need to drive to FLA because we have an 80lbs dog and the airlines have a 20lbs restriction.......that would cover his head,ha

Yeah man, when I was talking to the other dealership that had the 5k additional on sticker, they also had 3-4 other $800 add ons that they said they couldn’t remove. And when I was like F that, told him to give me his card for later, he came back with one of them knocked off. I still said no and he went to get his card again, but came back with all 3 of them knocked off. I still said no and he came back with those knocked off and 2k more on my trade in. Lol. I was just put off at all the BS. The other dealer was straightforward and was like sticker price it is.

Car salesman will say anything they think will make the sale right here, right now. When I bought my TRD Off Road, the first dealer I went to said those are very very rare, you will wait forever if you want one of those, you're better off buying this limited we have sitting right over here, isn't it nice?
I went to the other dealer across town who had 5 or 6 TRD Off Road's sitting on the lot. Forget paying over sticker, I got them to take a few grand off the price and throw in running boards for free.

These body-on-frame SUVs kick some serious butt in the reliability and off-road capability departments, but a Pro is not worth even $4K under MSRP and a TRD Off-Road no more than $40K, even with KDSS. These SUVs are way behind the times in drivetrain and vehicle tech, mpgs, and safety.

Rumor has it that the new generation 4Runner will be ready summer 2022 as a 2023. Usually prices of the old will go down, but who knows in these Covid and Biden days.

Is it wrong to admit I chuckle at owners who try to make their SR5/OR/Limited look like a Pro, especially when their color isn't even offered in a Pro?

Really? No need to bring politics in here.
Demand is through the roof for Runners... don't expect a break.

i picked up a blk trd pro last week... unfortunately i kinda paid 899 over sticker. 899 included lifetime tint/wheel locks/nitro air. they would not budge. maybe i could have played the walk out the dealership move and see if they'd chase me down. but ive been calling and driving around dallas area and this was the only dealership that had one. it became available when the person that ordered it had cold feet. overall im very happy with the car. but def not happy with the price but i can live it with it.

Fought tooth and nail to get my army green for msrp in september of '20. Basically had to tell them 5 times i was leaving to drive to another dealer that was selling at msrp down the highway. They wanted 5k over, other dealers wanted 8-10k over for green pros. Recently out of curiosity, carvanna offered me 3k over msrp for my pro used with 7k miles.

I had to shop out of state to get my AG Pro at MSRP. Dealers in the LA basin wanted 5 to 15 over MSRP. I had mine delivered from Oklahoma at MSRP plus $1500 shipping to my house in CA.
