What kind of tires did your 5th Gen ship with?

Took delivery and was pleasantly surprised that the 4x4 Nightshade shipped with Yokohama Geolandars instead of the Dunlops found on the 4x2 I test drove.

I was almost positive I’d want to get rid of the Dunlop before their useful life but I might run these Geolandars out!

My TRD Pro came with Nitto Terra Grapplers. I got rid of them at like 200 miles and got KO2s.

Anything inherently wrong with the Nitto’s? I was thinking of getting Terra Grapplers in a unique size (285/45R22) to fit on some aftermarket wheels I was eyeing.

It depends on the trim levels. The SR5 comes with Dunlops, but the Pro or Limited come with other brands.

I run G2s no problem. I love them, at 10k and I'm mudding, snow no chains, and rains.

2017 TRD Off Road - Came with Dunlops from the factory.

Ran them for about 40k miles then swapped to the Falken Wildpeaks - haven't looked back.

I've had Terra Grapplers on my previous Jeeps (Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited) and they were pretty mediocre and really loud for an AT in both applications. Both were Standard Load variations.

My TRDOR came with the Bridgestone HT 684s. Lasted 35k. Even on their final days I thought they were pretty good for an OE tire. I've since switched them for KO2s and they are amazing. Super quiet. Great traction in snow, rain, etc. so far.

My brother had a 2013 Limited with the factory Yokohamas and he got 80k out of them doing a ton of highway miles. He always liked them and bought a second set.

Nothing was wrong with them really. I just wanted something more aggressive and C load for peace of mind when I’m out on trails and what not.

No, they are OK depending on the application. I ran those for about 23k miles and thought they were fine on the road. Offroad they are going to be pretty meh.

I see 3 primary tire options for the 265 size = Bridgestone Dueler, Dunlop something (what mine came with), and now many are shipping with Toyo Open Country HTs (probably my first choice of the 3). The TRD Pro comes with Nitto TGs. And the limited I think always come with the Yokahama Geolander G96 - or at least I've never seen any other tire on them.

Is anyone getting anything else?

Mine came with Dunlop AT20. They were terrible tires that were out of round and couldn't be balanced. I was losing my wits with everyone trying to balance them. Eventually they were replaced under warranty with BFG KO2. So much better no vibrations.
