The most frustrating part is the lack of updates from the regional reps. Emailing Toyota is useless and fb messages are ignored.
If they just gave me an idea when they will build kdss for this region, it wouldn't be as bad. My dealer said they got the order. Confirmation of dealer order and an idea of build date is all I ask at this point.

Pretty much. After San Diego said they could get one but it would be a while, I started calling dealerships closer and closer to Louisiana that I could get easy flights to for a drive back. I
think the key is finding the region that the options are commonly allocated to. Don't be deceived by the salesperson saying "yeah, we can get that". Maybe they can, but if its only 1 vehicle every 3 - 6 months your odds are not good at all. That's what happened to me with the Alabama dealer. They told me "no problem, we get KDSS". Wellllll, turns out yeah, they get it but only a couple every 6 months... maybe.
Waiting on a confirmation of the delivery date (i think i was told end of august). If you get lucky you may find a dealership with the model you want already in the pipeline and wont have to wait as long. San Diego told me that they car I would be depositing down would be a 2022 so you may be out that far.
