R4T Lower Control Arm Skids (Mod 1.0)

I ordered a set of Running for Tacos Lower Control Arm Skids for the T4R.

R4T Lower Control Arm Skids

So fit and finish of the skids it really good. 3/16" Steel. I ordered mine Black PC. Supplied hardware was adequate.
The bolts were 3 1/2" and 4" SS, I found them to be about 1/4" too short for my liking. Seems the nylon lock nut didn't have enough thread to engage. Also, I was not in favor of the small bolt near the tire end location, so hence.... Mod 1.0
To the hardware store I went, bought all new 3/8" SS carriage bolts and lock nuts.
Drilled the lower control arm outer hole to 7/16" on each side.
Cut 2 new 3/8 x 4" bolts to 3 3/4" to fit in the outer skid slot.
Used the 4" Bolts in the front skid locations.
Cut 2 3/8 x 5" carriage bolts to 4 1/4".
Used never seize on all bolts to prevent any galling.

Bolted them up, fits like a glove!

Warning: I bought R4T LCA skids in TRD Pro Grey.

1) they were grey but not the same color as the TRD skid, not even close.

2) they were poorly packed and arrived with the powder coat damaged on both sides of both skids.

Every time I buy the “cheapest” option I regret it.

I would contact them and request they exchange the damaged product.
Mine were well packaged and not the first blemish!

I would not be happy either……

reviving an old thread. considering picking these up, how have they held up for the past year? $149 seems like a great price for steel and powder coated (but website doesn’t say whether it’s steel or aluminum)

I have them in grey and they are very close to the Pro grey. Mine came packaged well and were in great condition.

Same, I drag my LCAs through rocks constantly and they are just fine. These things are Overland Jewelry, judging by the pics shared in this thread its perfect for people who dont actually go wheeling

I have them for KDSS and they are banged up pretty good, mostly to protect the lower bushing bracket. Seems I hit the LCA enough
