Thanks for the clarification....
What is your thought on doing the eibach trd pro springs when they come out. Is there any real benefit... I see higher center of gravity and lower fuel mileage as a negative.

Fwiw...I did not experience any rubbing in this last week of which at least 2 to 300 miles were off road. Terrain was enough to hit skids on occasion.

So any benefit to raise it 1.5 inches with springs?

Not without raising the front end to the same height as a stock Pro, +1”. You could add a leveling spacer to achieve this, or maybe you can adjust up your non Pro shocks, not sure if you have 5150’s, then trimming your front fender/bumper area per the Pro as done at the port and then pushing in your fender well. I did not do this. There is a TSB out there for this mod and plenty of videos. The rear height is the same on the Pro as the other models.
I added 1.5/1” Cornfed spacers to my stock Pro and did no other mods whatsoever with my 285’s and only slightly rub at max articulation in certain situations.

ok so wait i know the pro is 1'' higher

but what would rub exactly if i fit 285s
the 2021 venture comes with the grey TRD wheels. but obv not the 1'' height as the fox shocks on pro i dont have those on mine but i have kdss lol

so fitting the 285s without having that 1'' height difference would rub on what exactly ? not the upper control arm i hope right ?

then what

Depends on your use case -- whether you need that extra clearance at the body. Lift will provide better approach, departure and breakover angles, as well add added clearance for skids, which means you may hit or scrape less. If you scrape a lot today or expect to in the future or you just want to reduce the chance of that, go with the lift. It will add capability and may make a difference in clearing an obstacle or not (or how much scraping you're willing to do).

I don't think 1.5 inches of lift has enough CG impact to really worry about that. It also doesn't severely impact lifespan of other parts, such as CVs and u-joints as opposed to a 3+ inch lift.

That, and it looks good, subjectively.

It will rub on the front fender down low and the fender liner. It may also rub a bit on your mud flaps if the caster is not right.
There are many of advantages to lifting a vehicle as stated in the previous post by Ahtoxa11, which, I would do if you are going 285’s.

its not worth it i have a brand new 21 venture with KDSS

it will be too much of a pain especially if im only going 285s

if i was to do 295s+ and aftermarket wider rims 100%
but im using the venture grey TRD rims with 285s

Maybe just go with a 275/70-17 then.

This tire size seems to b about as rare as Bigfoot. After reading a ton of posts, I think I’m relegated to sticking with the OEM size and maybe new wheels.

so just to confirm what was said.. does 1''' lift on the Pro clear all rubbing issues but on off road trd venture the mud flaps will rub but nothing serious right

Lol. Somewhat true. I had 275/70-17's on my Pro when stock, but, they were E load KO2's. Too heavy and a little too harsh. Switched to SL Wildpeaks in 285/70-17's and like them.

I stated that I added 1.5" Cornfed spacers to my front Pro setup and 1" Cornfed spacers to my rear setup. With 285/70-17's without modding anything else I clear with only very slight rubbing under full articulation. On a Pro this would equate to ~2.5" lift up front and 1" lift in the rear. Center of hub to top of fender arch is 22.5" front and 23.25" in the rear.
I personally would not put 285's on without a lift.

Guys. Lift does not affect where tires rub when if you're wheeling. The arc in which suspension travels DOES NOT change with more height, you're just setting the baseline (where suspension sits when parked) at a different point of its travel. Now, there are ways to stop uptravel with bump stops so you don't stuff the tire in as much, then there is long-travel suspension and UCAs that push the wheel out, but that's not what we're talking about here. Fundamentally, IFS lift does nothing for tire clearance. Nothing at all.

Your addressing the wrong member here. I was responding to member Gouranga about inquiring about the 1” lift, in which, I stated in a previous post to member what my setup was with the additional 1” lift up front on the Pros along with the fender mod. I liked and agreed with your post on improved approach and departure angles and undercarriage clearance. I stated, “I personally would not put 285’s on without a lift.” That is my personal opinion for the aforementioned benefits as stated and in my case aesthetics also. I think you should have made this a general reply or to Gouranga. No harm. Just clarification.

I have a 2020 Pro and 285s fit with trimming the front bumper slightly and removing the stock mud flaps which I replaced with Rally Armour.
This was also with 0et wheels, so not sure how that effects everything.
