I checked th SR5P, TRD Pro and Limited and I’m not seeing the pea soup green being available.

I got a 2021 in Lunar Rock because I liked it better than black, white, or magnetic gray. I couldn’t care less that there are Lunar Rock Rav-4s, and I won’t care if Lunar Rock is available on every 4Runner trim next year.

I bought my 2020 AG because I’ve always wanted the color every since I saw it on the FJ Cruiser.
I wasn’t able to get the FJ cruiser at that time, but I’d been eyeing 4runners for a while and when AG came available I was fortunate enough to be able to get one.
Honestly I don’t care a bit that they’re available on other trims. I bought it for me, not for anyone else...

he didn't get played, he knowingly paid $10k extra for a green TRD pro and he got it. you seem pretty hot and bothered about what another guy decided to do with his own money
toyota keeps the TRD colors unique and rare for their own benefit, it just so happens that it's a mutual benefit to owners too

OP this is what you should focus on. AG is only available on a cosmetic model trim this year (you can't even get it with a rear diff lock). if you're thinking of this car as an investment then chances are the 2021 trail edition in army green will probably never be seen as an alternative

If Army Green were a standard color, I would have traded in my 2017 for a 2021 in the same trim months ago.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nautical Blue. But that green.......

Maybe next year the Quicksand, VooDoo Blue, or Inferno may be an offering in all models!
Doesn’t bother me in the least!

You could buy a loaded ORP and get a vey high end custom paint job or wrap for much less than they upsell the pro (which is an ORP with different shocks). You got played if you did it for the color.

Don't we have a guy on here who did exactly that?
Crazy...

I'm bothered by it. Because when it's time to replace mine, there will be that many more out there that I can't buy. Because I think it's a hideous color on the T4R.

4Runners are everywhere in my city but I’d be lucky to spot TRD variants (off-road/ pro) on most days. Throw these rare colors in the mix and it’s almost never.
In the past few years, I’ve seen:
Inferno: 2
Sand: 3
Cement: 5
Calvary: 2
Voodoo: 1
Army: 2
Lunar: 0
If you want to be rare, stay away from social media, forums and car meets.
I chose a ubiquitous color to avoid the law and draw less attention when we travel to places where the “hills have eyes”.
Tacomas on the other hand? None of these colors are sacred.

I walked onto the Toyota lot, salesman wandered up to assist. Told him I was wanting to check out the 4runners.
First question he asked, "what color?".
Color of my vehicles is unimportant to me, as long as it's not something garish.
Ruled out the new ones as they have the warning sensors.
All the used on the lot were SR5s. So I picked a 17 with 20k miles, lift, custom wheels and 285s.
The pristine Midnight Metallic Black got scratched on the way home.
Coming from a 68 F100 (DD for 35 years), the 4runner is a rolling bell & whistle.

When I bought my 4Runner last month the Stealership told it was an $8K upcharge for AG, so I went with MGM, I passed by 2 other Toy dealers yesterday and they both had AG - one a Trail the other a Pro, they told me nobody wants that color! Both were listed under MSRP!

AG color
I have seen 2 in the last week, near me....unless i saw the same one twice. Great color. The miata was over sticker, that should tell you never pay over sticker, its a truck.

Quicksand
Honestly, if they still made Quicksand, I would 100% have gone with that. I didn't actually buy it for the color (not completely anyway), I "like" the AG color, but I still wish it was Quicksand...
In any event, still a super cool ride.

MGM is a great choice. I like the AG color but I can see it being too dark for people. And I'll never get a 4Runner marked up. Great vehicle but if you're willing to drop that type of coin, just go buy a used Seqouia/LC. I'd consider trading my current Trail for an AG TRDOF if the price is/was right.
