he didn't get played, he knowingly paid $10k extra for a green TRD pro and he got it. you seem pretty hot and bothered about what another guy decided to do with his own money
toyota keeps the TRD colors unique and rare for their own benefit, it just so happens that it's a mutual benefit to owners too
OP this is what you should focus on. AG is only available on a cosmetic model trim this year (you can't even get it with a rear diff lock). if you're thinking of this car as an investment then chances are the 2021 trail edition in army green will probably never be seen as an alternative
I don't think you know what "hot and bothered" means.
I've always wanted a 4Runner, but it never seemed to either fit my needs at the time or I just couldn't afford one. I saw a grey one on a car hauler headed to a local Toyota deal back in October 2020. Dropped into the dealer the next day to have a look. It was a 2021 Trail in Cement. I called a buddy of mine who is the sales manager at a different Toyota dealer and asked if he had one of these coming in, and he said he had two. I told him to put my name on one of them.
Two weeks later the Cement Trail came in, as did one on Army Green. I thought the AG was just way to much green, but loved the Cement.
Honestly if I had not seen the 4Runner in Cement I would not have bought it. I did look at an ORP in the Lunar Rock, but didn't like it nearly as much as the Cement. Since I don't do an real off roading and ORP would have been overkill. I got my trail for invoice plus a $1500 rebate so was pretty happy with the price.
