CBI Covert Bumper and 30" light - help needed

I bought a CBI Covert Bumper (cannot recommend by the way), and am trying to install a Baja Design 30" single row light bar using the BD mounting hardware that came with the light. However, this makes the light sit back from the front edge of the bumper about 2 inches.

I have attached photos.
1 - the bracket that came with the BD light bar and the mounting holes in the bumper as designed by CBI.
Gaps - three different pics that hopefully show just how far back the light sits from flush.

Has anyone done this install and figured out how to get the light to sit flush with the front of the bumper? I see pics all over the place with these lights fitting tight to the bumper, I cannot seem to figure it out.

Your help is appreciated.

Can’t help you with that but I’m curious why you don’t like the CBI covert?

This. I am close to pulling the trigger on the Covert along with a 30" Diode lightbar and a winch TBD. I really dig the Covert for the minimalist design.. didn't want something sticking way out front like the Rago or SSO.

Take a look at C4 Fab. If I could do it all over again, I would take my business there. I will not do business with CBI again, and cannot recommend anyone else do so.

CBI Covert Bumper and 30" light - help needed

I had issues with my C4 bumper and emailed c4. They replied every time but like 2 days later.

How’s CBI’s customer service ?

No, I have not figured it out yet. And so far, as you can see, there have been no responses with others and how they have solved this issue.

CBI has not responded to my inquiries either. As I expected, they just don't care. They have their money and have moved on.

I believe I am going to have to have someone fab up some custom brackets.

Posting up photos of the issue and how you're mounting it will go a long ways for us to provide any advice on fitting things better, if you can!

Understand having a better bracket may be preferred but what about moving mount fwd and drilling a new hole closer to the front? May not be workable with the slope of the bumper (not being able to put nut on bottom?) but a thought. Or check with BD. They have some things not advertised on the site and may be able to suggest a better option. I would think those mounts are generic. \

Good luck

Thanks for the idea. I did try to figure out what it would take to move it forward, but it is not feasible. There is no access under that sloped section of metal, and would take a custom bracket anyway. I would rather just get a custom bracket for the holes that CBI provides.

I had hoped that someone else was already running this set up and would be able to provide some input on how they accomplished it.

CBI has yet to respond....
