Burned Power steering fluid( check yours)

Hello everyone,

I flushed my power steering fluid today .fluid was very burned. It was yelloish brown . I replaced it with dex III toyota transmission fluid. What a difference!!!! So much smoother. I have 53k on the truck. Please check yours when you all get a chance .

Good advice. The previous owner of mine (or Jiffy Lube or some place) at least made the effort of flushing but used the wrong stuff (it was clean but not red). One of the first things I did was PS, brake fluid and ATF fluid swap. Also replaced the AT pan filter. PS is not terribly difficult especially if you invest in a fluid evacuator. Same for brakes, you can get a vacuum pistol thing for about $30. I change the brake fluid every 2 years.

ATF gets burned easily in the transmission too, ever since Toyota stopped using the secret ingredient of Sperm Whale oil lol.
