It started with me saying “don’t try to sell me anything. I’m buying a 4Runner for a reason.” Then they did their job and rattled through options while I turned red. The 70000 7 year warranty came up and started at something like $3500. I said it’s something I’d like to have but it’s a Toyota so I’ll pass. If I need this warranty maybe I shouldn’t buy the vehicle. Instantly down to $2500. I said no way. She left the room and came back at $1485. I gave in. This was in feb 2017 on a 2017 sr5 premium.

Not new, but on a CPO. I paid about $1800 for 7yr/84k miles, almost exactly one year ago.

CPO warranties are now purchase date, not in-service.

So I'm covered until 2027 and 129k miles.

Absolute, 100%, no-brainer for me.

I did not purchase any coverage. I have an extended warranty through Geico for 12 bucks per month until 100k miles.

Any vehicle that's less than 1 year old or 15k miles or less can be enrolled with this warranty.

This will get you close to the best price. When I did it, it was 1300 for 10y100k.

Look up the thread on here. Too good of a deal to pass up. Dealer quoted me $3500, suffice to say I didn't even pay close to that. Platinum is where it's at. If it breaks, they have to give me a Landcruiser/Supra loaner and put me up at a Four Seasons until it is fixed. Okay, maybe I made up the last part, but you get the idea.

I paid $1045 for 7Yr/100K, which was $100 over dealer cost. I used to work at the dealer as a sales manager and they hook me up.

The dealers charging $3k plus are basically raping people.

I had 2.9% financing.. They bought me down to 1.9% financing +$600 for the warranty. Basically they converted my interest into the warranty + $600 on top.

I paid $815 for 5yr/125K with zero deductible. Seems fair as I drive approximately 25K/yr, hoping if I have issues they will show up before 125K.
