I've owned my 2012 for 8 years. No better than 20 on a tank that's all highway.

I just averaged 26mpg the other day driving on 2-lane roads in that 45-60mph range. As soon as you get into stop and go traffic though, it drops dramatically. I try to take the road less traveled as much as possible, not necessarily to save gas, but just because I enjoy driving it. I'd say my real daily average is more like 18-19 range.

This, plus eliminating or significantly reducing stop and go. Fuel mileage begins to drop dramatically over about 60 mph.

You can get 26, if conditions are right.

I haven't tracked it anywhere near as closely as you have, but the one in my 2011 has been within a couple tenths every time I have compared to hand calculated.
Never reads higher than about 13.8 unless I reset it and go down hill or have a big tailwind.

Sounds like fake news to me...Jk. I'll never see those numbers because I constantly switch between D, 4th and 3rd S mode gear going up and down hilly roads/highways lol. Coasting down hill with no cars in the way is how I see 25 mpg being possible.

Offset by the fuel consumed getting it uphill. Just saying.

Getting 19.85 MPG over 4829 miles on a stock 2021 ORP (calculation from actual gallons and actual mileage over 19 fill ups and mostly non-hwy driving). On board MPG tends to run about .5 over actual MPG.
Got this this morning driving like the old man that I am.

Instantaneous fuel mileage doesn't mean much, it's at the pump and the total miles traveled to get there that really matters and it's doubtful any 4Runner driven "normally" will get 25mpg over the course of 12-15 gallons used.

25mpg...I can only dream.
"19 PRO, 2.5 in up the front and 3.0 in the rear, 4.88's/285-70-17, full skids and dual batteries, with a drawer set...5780 LBS, full fluids but no cargo.
I haven't seen the far side of 16 mpg in more than a year. 15.5 is the current running average....as long as I don't exceed 70...
