TRD Off-road premium for Limited , good deal?

Dealer is offering 41,500 for my 2019 Off road premium. I paid 36,000 sticker, 40,000 OTD for it.

I decided that since I don't really off road much and because the AWD would be slightly better in the snow here that I am going to get a limited.

Vehicle I'm buying is a Limited Nightshade for 49k.

What would you guys do? Any advice?

I still love my TRD OR too. The lift, sliders, 33" tires.. still look back twice at it after parking.

Limited Nightshade is awesome in the snow and looks good. But I’m biased as I have a ‘16 Limited.

I did as I was leaving the lot with the nightshade. I parked right next to my old baby and took one last pic of her with her replacement. It was truly a sad moment. I loved that 4runner. I love the nightshade, but am not attached to it as much yet.

It was more practical for me to get the nightshade with full time 4wd. Recently had a baby and I would feel a lot safer with her if we had to go anywhere in a snowstorm or with black ice. Also when the wife needs to take the 4runner she wouldn't have to worry about shifting into 4 hi.

In the winter there was always a debate in my head about keeping it in 2wd to lengthen the life of the 4wd components or switching to 4wd (from binding on dry patches and round abouts). The roads can trick you in Minnesota. It could be dry as a fly on the highway then the next section would be iced up in grooves where everyone else's tires roll and from the moisture of exhaust fumes. Sometimes my back end would kick out but I'd be going slow enough to correct it.

I decided I don't want to white knuckle it anymore so the obvious choice was to get a Limited.

If I still lived in Las Vegas, NV it would be TRD Offroad all the way.

Up here in Minnesota, I've only been to the off road park once in the 2 years of ownership with the TRD Off-road.

Farewell TRD ORP! Hope your new owner takes you on more adventures than I have.

Will miss how much higher and aggressive the 1.75 inch suspension lift and 33s make it.

Do you use the locker on your ORP?

Limited has much nicer interior and stock set up, great for fancy daily

Resale on factory locked vehicles will always be better FYI.. if you want all the time AWD you can just go subaru and pocket the extra money for something else

I've only went off road with it once and never attempted any obstacles that required the locker. Crawl control got me up a tight and muddy hill and being almost high centered on a snow bank while ice fishing.

I used to love beating up on my trucks when I was younger but now and days the grocery store parking lot is the most exciting place I get to be.

I've driven mostly Toyotas through out my life. (89 pickup, 00 Celica, 01 Lexus LS400, 07 Tacoma, 19 4runner, and now this Limited 4runner.)

I can't stand the CVT in the Subarus and reliability is questionable.

Only Toyota and Lexus vehicles for me.

I love the look of the Nightshade! Awesome features! We went another route...l.I have the TRD Pro for me, and my wife got a fantastic deal on a new GX460! We had such a high trade in value on our Armada we decided to go this route. So I have my “fun, rugged ride” and we have the smooth luxurious kid hauler as well!!!! Nice discounts on the GX460 currently.
