help with Magnuson Supercharger

Is anyone else having problems with the Magnuson Supercharger? My truck is a 2019 TRD Pro. Supercharger installed Jan 2021 at a local Magnuson authorized dealer.

Recently I took my truck to the local Toyota dealership for unrelated reasons and the mechanics found two issues:

1) The check engine light is on because the air intake hose (red cuff tip) cannot be firmly fastened to the engine block because the cuff length is too short. See attached photo. Is it possible to fabricate a longer cuff or do I need to buy a longer hose?

2) Coolant fluid is leaking from the right hose. See attached photo. There is a big pink mess dripping onto the wiring and pin connector below the hose. Is there a solution for this or a custom fabrication?

Are these problems my responsibility or the installer responsibility?

You can always purchase a different coupler from various places. Try moving the tube over towards the driver side first. Loosen all the clamps and pull it over if there is enough space for the clamps to still work.

The leak is common with those tanks. My Tacoma supercharger kit leaked from the same place. There's a fix but I forgot what it was but you can try tightening the clamp. There is also a metal tank available.

You can also put some Honda bond or any kind of high temp liquid gasket on the edges of the hoses and retighten the clamps. And also add another clamp. It worked for me.

The one minute gasket maker works pretty good too. The TRD intake coupling should work with no issues, not sure what is going on there.

I have a URD not a Magnuson, but what are your CEL's. I had several repeating CEL's after my install and it just took the proper tune to get them all cleared and it optimized for the the '19.

i also changed all the clamps as a few came loose and fell off while driving and let's just saw that's not fun.

the leaking coolant should be an easy thing to find and resolve.

Use constant tension clamps. That is why OEMs use them.

The TRD intake should fit fine although it is pretty tight at the throttle body side because of the SC bypass valve. I would say that's a installer issue. The intake tube may be pushed too far in on the filter box side making it short on the throttle body side. You can fix this yourself, but if you take it back to the shop, make sure they don't try to adjust the bypass valve on the SC to make more room. It's clearly marked not to adjust it, but you never know what someone else may do

This is a common problem. If you don't want to take it back to the installer, you could just clean up the leakage mess and re-tighten the clamp. Three times was a charm for me (only once on the left return side). Just checked after the last tightening, which was a few of months ago ... no runs, no drips, no errors. Also check the coolant level in the reservoir. Should be at the bottom of the return hose inlet (left side). Mine was installed by the dealer when new, so I guess they used Toyota coolant. That's what I put back in. Only took about 1/8 cup. You could also add a constant pressure clamp for piece of mind. Not catastrophic. Good luck and enjoy the extra "git up and go!" Hope this helps.

BTW, looks like your intake hose clamp needs to be moved closer to the throttle body at the top. It's not where it should be. There are ribs where the clamp needs to be between. Just and observation.
