Just gotta say, that since owning my second 5th Gen 4R (19' TRD OR) I am extremely happy with everything about it. I realize that it doesn't have the newest or greatest technology, transmission, or engine & it does not get the best gas mileage, but it just screams quality, reliability & durability. Some guys complain about changing the oil & the plastic oil filter housing but since I've replaced the factory skid plate with an aluminum RCI, its a piece of cake. I can honestly say that I am a 4R owner for life.

Now if Toyota would build the new Supras in Japan with a Japanese engine (not a BMW) & offer a manual trannsmission, I would trade in my 15' Camaro SS/RS 1LE in a heartbeat.

Just had to get that off my chest.

Traded my 19 OR Premium for a 21 Limited Nightshade due to great resale. Loved the 19 and love the 21. I wish I could have both but space and money.

I didn’t acquire my 21 TRDORP under the most desirable circumstances (2014 was totaled), but I wouldn’t have replaced my 2014 SR5 with anything else but another T4R.

I agree 100%, this is my first Toyota and I am really enjoying it. All the maintenance is super easy, everything is tried and true reliable. Been out west 2 times now and it’s has been a fantastic performer. Only thing I wish it had would be a manual transmission option.

Enjoying the 17 sr5 prem still. Very capable off road but mainly a kid hauler. Blacked out and all mods were under $1000.

Trd skid painted black
Roof rails painted black
Trd pro suspension clearance sale
Trd pro wheels sale and sold stock wheels ... overall cost about $100

Would like the led headlights and fog lights plus apple car play. Enjoy driving the 4Runner daily and very reliable. One more oil change with dealer then start doing them myself. Currently looking into new tires

Since you mentioned the Supra, here is a little bit of interesting info. The Supra is the fastest (0 to 60 time) vehicle that Toyota sells. OK, understandable. But do you know what the second fastest is? It is the RAV4 Prime with over over 300 HP combined from the gas engine and two electric motors. The RAV4 Prime (plug in hybrid) is one fast vehicle.

I'm a long time Toyota owner, having owned 7 Toyotas since 1981, 4 of which are/were T4Rs:

'90 2nd gen, sold @ 205,000 miles to a friend who put an additional 250,000 miles on it.

'00 3rd gen, sold @ 152,000 miles only because it was a great time to trade up to a 4th gen.

'08 4th gen, still going strong at 177,000 + miles but now relegated to towing and errands because I now have...

'19 5th gen TRD OR Prem, somewhat of a garage queen because my wife drives her Caddy SUV and most of my driving is either the '08 T4R or my Mustang (love that V8).

The other 3 yotas were:

'81 Celica, sold @ 178,000 when I bought the '90 T4R

'88 Camry, sold @ 205,000 for a '98 Camry

'98 Camry, near-totaled at 198,000 by my youngest son.

"Oh, what a feeling!"
