NEW Rear Storage Compartment, We Need Your Input!
We've been asked to help with the development of a new idea for storage in the cargo area of the 5th Gen 4Runner. Please take a few minutes to watch the video posted below, then leave your thoughts and ideas in the video comment section. The inventor will be reading your posts and answering questions about it there. Click here for the video=
New Cargo Storage System For 5th Gen 4Runner- We Need Your Input! - YouTube
If there's enough interest to pay for the tooling it'll likely go to production!

Ah yes...very good use of space. I have a drawer system and mole panel with shelf. I am strongly interested based on what measurements would be. The magnets vs latch, I'd vote magnets as long as they were strong. Keep us posted!

He has it backwards. On the driver's side it makes more sense - everyone that has a subwoofer on the passenger side can't use this.
So if he reverses it, his addressable market is larger.

Would this fit a 4Runner with the three row seating?

For me too it would make more sense to have storage like this on driver side. Not sure though how it's going to deal with wheel kit . With passenger side storage it looks like power won't be easily accessible with trunk full of stuff.

biggest problem, as noted is access to the 120v plug, but allows for better utilization of space.
i would consider one at the right price point.

The biggest issue with this design is people with the subwoofer which this would entirely block, much better option would be on the driver's side as long as you can still access the bottle jack if needed.

Not everyone has a sub. As a matter of fact, most do not. This site has a over-representation of OR/ORP/Pro models from the general public numbers.
I'd be in for both sides. Only issue I have is better installation, more comparable to OEM.

And it’s likely people from this site, or similar, that would even think about purchasing and installing this product. Your average consumer would never even think about anything beyond floor mats and cargo area covers.

Id buy one for sure! prefer drivers side as stated because I like using the existing passenger side compartment and easier access to power on thats side as well.

I'd want drivers side and 3rd row seating option. I already try and cram what I can in the jack storage spot. I'd love some more spots to put the loose stuff I carry around in the back.

Great idea, either side is fine with me as long as it allows access to the jack/tools area and if on the passenger side the outlet is still accessible. Price point would naturally be a factor as well.

Limiteds, Nightshades, so now more than half of the vehicles have a sub, so now what?

My best advice to OP is READ THE F-ING ROOM.
This product won’t work for people with JBL audio, equally as frustrating as front end products that won’t work for people with Limiteds, Nightshades, and TRD Sports.

I have two recovery straps with the jack items, panel pops off occasionally though
