Skid Plate Bolts - anti-seize, thread-locker, nothing?

I was taking off my gas tank skid yesterday before getting my gas pump recall fixed this week (I don't trust the dealer not to strip skid bolts etc.) and noticed one of the bolts in my RCI transmission skid had fallen out in the last few weeks.

When I put them on, I believe I used some anti-seize but it was several years ago and can't remember.

What's the consensus on that - is it best to use anti-seize or do people use thread lock instead?

Bonus points - is there a torque spec? The RCI instructions just say "tighten."

Anti-seize is never a bad idea on bolts that will periodically be removed. It does affect the torque values, however, and you have to account for that. Plus, as you mentioned, they could work loose, so a periodic check is a must.

As stated, antisieze is good on your application.
Make sure you have lock washers on your bolts. Stainless is probably best or zinc.

I do antiseize on all my RCI skids bolts, everything I've found on those bolts says 22-23 ft pounds...

Anti seize. Threadlocker is best for stuff that you have no intention of removing.

I've seen anywhere from 25-30 ft/lbs

Been using anti-seize on the stainless steel bolts that hold up my RCI skid plate. Every oil change (10,000 miles) I drop the powder coated skid plate down, do the oil change, then put fresh anti-seize back on the 4 bolts. Easy peasy.

Best $300 that I've ever spent was for the RCI skidplate.

Anti-seize for skid plates. You never know when you need to take them off to clean when they get caked in mud or dirt and to change diffs, t-case fluid.
