Arrow Do all 4Rs default to recirculation mode for A/C?

Only reason I ask this is because my 4R came with an aftermarket HU. I wasnt sure if it was an option within the original HU to change this. This is the first vehicle Ive owned that starts in Recirculation Mode by default.

Sorry for the dumb weird question.

Mine doesn’t. I wish it did.

But it does default to A/C on if you hit auto with the temp all the way up. I always thought that was weird.

My '18 does, my '01 doesn't.
I thought this might be a changeable option in Tech Stream, but it isn't.

My 2012 only goes to recirc automatically if the temp dial is at the lowest setting.

I keep it one click above max cold just for that reason.

Thats really cool! I thought that most modern vehicles (ones with electronic vent controls not good old push buttons) did this. Its neat that it will take outside temps into consideration.

Better never drive with a window down....you might breath something besides oxygen.

Ignorance is a bliss. Ride a motorcycle with a white bandana and report back. Riding on my bike not only can you smell the exhaust but it also leaves a nice outline of black junk on the bandana. So I never ride with windows down in the city or on highways. On country roads it's a different story.

If the temperature knob is all the way to "Max A/C," it will default and stay in recirculate. One click clock-wise (so it's on the blue mark), you should be able to toggle recirculate on and off. It should stay in the mode you last left it in, as long as you don't put it back to "Max A/C".

The attached picture (taken from AJT) shows the knob one-click clockwise.

Edit: I just saw that the question was already answered above...oops!
