A question about Maxtrax
Do they ever go on sale, 299 is a decent price but it would be nice if they were on sale once and a while. I know they are based out of the AU so US holidays don't really mean anything. Also does anyone have the Titanium and FJ colors and can post a pic? I am looking for 2 sets.

I haven't seen them on sale, but if you look around you may be able to save on shipping and sales tax.

It's hard to even find them in stock.

If you want to save some money, go with XBULL like I did.
Comparison of the two here:

I have been contemplating getting them too, but $300 is a lot. 100% worth it, but in reality how often will i use them since i never had/needed them in all my years of driving.
A decent knock off would probably be fine for me.
The XBULL look like a good option.

These things are silly but if you don't want to spend that money, I'm sure there are knockoff brands for cheaper.

Is anyone with free shipping expecting to have the titanium or gunmetal in stock any time soon?

+1 on the XBULL. I've seen them being used to recover full sized trucks and they seem to do the job. My brother runs them on his Jeep and I've used them myself and they worked each of the few times we've used them to get unstuck. I've also heard good things about Maxsa which is what I'll be picking up for myself for the trips planned this summer.

Haven't seen them on a discounted sale, but I picked up a pair with free shipping and free Maxtrax mounting pins from Off road Warehouse in 2017. If you need those mounting pins ($45?), that may be the best "sale" you can get.
They've more than paid for themselves on rocks and ice - can't recommend them enough. You don't really need their durability... until that's exactly the thing you need - then it's nice to have.

No one has a deal like that and all the free shipping sites are out of stock. I will wait and see who gets them in stock.

Amazon has them in stock directly from Maxtrax. Spend the extra money and get the real deal. If there’s one thing you don’t skimp on, it’s recovery gear. When you’re out in the middle of nowhere, and stuck, is paying an extra $100 really that big of deal? Buy once, cry once YMMV.

What about the Rotopax traction boards? Use the same mounting as their fuel containers and you can get extensions for the mounts to stack em. Made in the US. RototraX Traction Boards BLACK

As someone who owns both a set of Maxsa and the MK2 Maxtrax I say they are totally worth it, if you actually are going to use them. Lets be honest most use these things as "Overland Jewelry" so if that's your use case go with one of the knockoffs.
The build material and quality of Maxtrax are lightyears ahead and you can feel the difference by just picking one up. I use traction boards all the time usually when I'm too lazy to stack rocks or if I want to quickly fill a tippy hole. They have also been really useful for snow wheeling and getting out of deep sand. Just like anything else you should be realistic about your use case and choose whatever tool works best.

we do our off roading alone so I would like 1 pair. I was lookng on Maxtrax's site but no one knows what's in stock and where. They offer free shipping but you have no clue when you are going to get them.
