Really???

A dealer asking for $60K and someone actually paying that much is still a bridge too far, right?

My 2019 Pro with only 11K miles on it isn't actually worth anything close to that... if it was, it would be gone already...

While it's tempting to sell your rig at these ridiculous prices, it only works if you have another vehicle already. Otherwise you're selling your car at an inflated price but then having to buy another vehicle at an inflated price.

I have a spare vehicle to use until my '22 Pro comes in so that's why I'm selling the '16 SR5.

I have very seriously considered listing mine and seeing what happens. I've only got 7k on my 2020 ORP and a few nice extras. I have other cars I could drive, but knowing how expensive the 2022's and on will be, It's kind of just delaying the cost.

The other thing to consider is if you financing or not. If you timed it right, there were some great rates out here...

Bought my '21 ORP w/ moonroof and OEM running boards in March for just over $40k (before tax/title). After we picked it up, our sales guy says "you got a great deal on this. Starting this week we won't be dealing at all off MSRP". I thought he was BS'ing me, but sure enough, that was the case. They had zero inventory after I bought mine (and they are one of the largest Toyota dealers in the nation).

For grins, I went out on Autotrader to look around last week and saw a (I think) '20 ORP listed at $54k. Pure insanity.

Local SF Bay Area Toyota dealer called me 1 week after I finished my fuel pump recall and offered me $37,500 straight cash buy. No trade in, no rolling me into a lease. The person calling was telling me they had no more 2021 4runners in any trim level to sell for the rest of 2021. They also can't buy back 4runners that have an open recall (aka airbag or fuel pump), I have had both done.

I have a 2015 Limited in pearl white
all stock
w/ 70% tread left Toyo AT2s on stock 20" wheels
OPOR Rocksliders
61,000 miles
all weather mats
Never washed the car since bought it in 2014 September

I paid 40,500 + tax + paperwork in 2014 for it.

If I had a 2nd vehicle that was a 4 seater I would have sold. I also can't convince myself to step up to a 2021 Land Cruiser anniversary edition or a 2021 LX570. Since I haven't had a car payment in many many years.

A lot of people getting into camping and offroading die to the pandemic thus driving prices up. Could also be the chip shortages.

Sold my 20 ORP with 20,000 miles on it and a ton of pinstripes for 6K more then I paid for it. Turned around and picked up a 21 ORP for 44K. Tried to find a LR Pro but I'm not paying 63k for a 4Runner, ain't happening.

I have a 2006 LC thats not doing much except sitting around. I am going to see what the dealer has to say about my 20 pro when I am in there for service appointment next week. It would have to be a stupid good offer to consider.

What's really cool about all this interest in selling your 4Runner for profit is all the new "Will it Rub" threads getting ready to clog up the forums.

Yes, but I live in Florida where "wet" is a definitive term all it's own.

I've been looking at getting back into a double cab Tacoma. Unfortunately the psycho I dated for 2 months keyed the crap out of my 4Runner so now it needs both sides completely repainted.... But it does seem like a good time to get out of a lower mileage rig like mine that only has 91k on it. Unfortunately the USED tacomas I have been eyeing are within like $1500 of new ones. 2-3 year old trucks with 30k for the price of new? It's insane. I would just get a new one. But it's also tough to sell something that I put so much work into also.
