Textured powdercoat wheels - bead/seal problem?

Hi all,

I am working on a new finish for my scs wheels. I had them coated in textured powdercoat and am now having second thoughts.

Will this texture possibly pose a problem for the bead and a good tire seal?

I've seen several Black Rhino wheels in similar finish, and wonder if anyone has experience with a black texture powdercoated wheel and airing down.

Thanks,
Chris

Yes you will have sealing problem at the bead. I would have the inner lip taped off before powdercoating

Thanks. Would it be best just to finish the whole inside of the wheel and the inner lip in satin/matte black, with the outside of the wheel in textured? This textured finish is money...I just don't want leaks lol.

Wouldnt just taping off and leaving the bare aluminum be a problem in itself?
