Rear window won’t close after impact

My wife hit something backing up last week. There is a minor dent in the rear hatch body.

We used the rear window to fit some cargo in and now it won’t stay up. I’m guessing something is out of alignment or damaged. What’s a good way to attack this problem? Could I perhaps shim the window up with wood temporarily to keep it up until I have time to fix it? I tried taping it up with Gorilla Tape but that worked for maybe five minutes before it opened again.

Sounds like it's time to take off the cover on the inside of the lift gate and see what's going on with the window. I'm sure there is a YouTube video out there that will help you with this.

This might work but have never tried it on 5the gen.Turn the key to ignition don't fire it up. roll the window up and down 3 times then close it and hold the button for 10 seconds.
