DIY: Eaton Rear E-Locker Install

Well it took me a bit but I finally got around to writing out a comprehensive DIY guide on how to install Eaton's new rear e-locker for the 5th gen. It was definitely a fun project and I learned a lot throughout the process. The install wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but it definitely took a whole weekend. Read up on it here:

You are a god among men. I have found that most mechanical things are not witchcraft, they go together a certain way, but I must admit that automatic transmissions and differentials are still a dark cult mystery to me.

Funny you should mention that I actually dropped my transmission pan at the same time as I was doing this project. It was pretty straight forward. I dont anything on our trucks is super complicated if you just take the time to do research. One of the benefits of having an old school truck I guess.

Thank you for this write up. It was super helpful for my own Diy attempt at this.

Question.. My shims got delayed in shipping from ecgs, and for the heck of it, I reused the original shims. I got a measurement of 0.005 backlash. Would this be okay?
