Eibach guidance
Hi friends.
Haven't posted much but have read extensively here. I've owned 4Runners for 18 years, gen3, gen4 (V8), and now gen5 - 2018 SR5 Premium. Lost my gen4 to a deer strike at 70mph...
Anyway, I'm not into big lifts and love the stock capabilities of the 4Runner. I don't like the soft front suspension so I have an Eibach coilover 2.0 adjustable front strut set on the way.
I think these will arrive set for about 2" of lift in the front, (advertised at 0-2+" of lift). I want to have 3/4 to 1" max lift in the front and do not want to mess with UCAs. Even 1/2" lift would be very acceptable to me. I'm running factory size 265/70R17 tires and plan to keep it that way. I'm not hanging pounds on the front either in the way of bumpers, bars and winches.
Question is: where should I adjust the struts to achieve what I'm looking for before installation (I realize these can be adjusted after installation). My SR5P does not have XDSS or whatever it's called.
Thanks in advance! Great forum, full of information.

Install them and see where they end up.
Adjust after that.

I have a 2019 Pro with a front spring replacement that was supposed to give 1.6 to 1.8 inches. I got just a hair short of 3 inches. And this was with a stealth bumper, winch and dual batteries....

I would adjust them down all the way and then up a couple of threads before installation. That should get you pretty close.
It would be a pain in the ass to adjust them all the way down while on the truck.

Read through this thread. A few of us out posted our experiences.
Eibach 5th Gen 2.0 Coilover Kit
Agreed, adjusting down before installing would be a good idea. The trouble is having solid way to hold onto them. If you've got a good size vise mounted to a heavy bench possibly? I didn't have too much trouble doing with them installed. Just mark the adjusting ring and count turns.

What springs did this? That would put the Fox shocks way out of their correct rebound position.

About 6 threads showing on my 2014 TEP have it about 1/2-1inch lift. I tried to lower one side on the car and one off… lower the coilover before you put in on, waaaaay easier. Many suspension place will probably do it free, it takes 10 seconds if you bring the coilovers and ask them to spin the collar down.

This was Eibach's FOX Pro specific 625 pound spring they spent almost a year perfecting. I was surprised once I had them on, they have settled about .33 inches over the time I have had them on AND I have about 315 pounds of "permanent" weight in the back. I am using Eibach's adjustable rear set with the 250 lb spring set.
That spring needs to be upped to the 400 lb spring set...it MAY be unloading the front a little since adding the weight i am a little low in the rear...

That’s pretty discouraging. How drastic was the change in ride quality, on and off road? I’ve been waiting for the ‘21 springs to be released, but I’m concerned that even the advertised 1.6” lift in the front is going too far from the ideal rebound zone.

I will admit it is stiffer on the front, but not enough to to be uncomfortable. This is my DD.
Off road, I spent a week and about 300 miles on everything from washboard, to dry river beds, to exposed bedrock..both slick and with "steps" 12-14 inches high. This was at both Big Bend Nat Park and Big Bed Ranch State Park. Specific trails were, Paint gap Hills, the Old ore Road, Juniper Canyon and the River Road at BBNP. At BBRSP we ran Fraiser Canyon and the road to the Solitario.
I felt that the truck and the shock/spring package acquitted itself well. Never ran into terrain we could not negotiate and handle with that setup.
as I said above it was a bit stiff, even aired down, but we never had an issue with lack of travel.

I did the nearly the same set up as this guy, but opting for a 0.25" spacer on top of the front shocks instead of the 0.4". Same set up in the rear. It drives great, honestly, the new spring rate feels better matched to the fox shocks than the OEM stuff. Still feels great doing mach idiot on fire roads, and no issues with a lack of flex while crawling. It's a perfect set up!
